*May be he meant s2, how some one will watch 1&3 by leaving s2?
Been wanting to try Doc Who, but the number of seasons are putting me off. Is it alright to dive into any of the seasons ? Or is there a breaker in between the whole gamut of seasons ? Or should I start with S1 ?
It helps if you have someone who know the backstory so you can understand the significance of the smaller events in the storyline.
Following is how the show was explained to me ..
So there is superior race of alien being called Timelords .. who are invincible of sorts and spend their lives travelling through space and time witnessing/investigating importants events in History .. (Past, Future & Alternate reality).. apparently because they are super advanced and have nothing better to do .. Time-Travelling tourists if you will.
Now our protagonist is the last surviving Timelord .. called "The Doctor" .. (Doctor Who?) .. (The Timelord race was eradicated in some kind of war .. don't know much about it yet) and he's has this Space-Time Travelling Vessel called "TARDIS" (the Police box) ..which can take him practically anywhere.
The Doctor is quintessentially British .. and always picks a beautiful Human woman as his Companion in his adventures .. there is a lot of Doctor Who terminology that one needs to catch up with .. like the "Swimming Pool" etc.
Over the course of the series The Doctor's body dies and he is instantly reborn with a new body (like a Phoenix of sorts) .. thus paving the way for a new actor to take over the role "The Doctor" and the show continues uninterrupted .. (for as long as it has)
Watching Community and Troy & Abed's Inspector Spacetime stories (which is heavily based on Doctor Who as I realised) helped pick up the show easier ..
Overall its a fun show .. with some brilliant acting by the main cast .. There are lot of crazy bits but what's amazing is how the shows almost manages to cleverly explain each bit of quirk in the plot ..

They weren't exactly annihilated. Watch from Season 1, not too many episodes per season. (By season 1, I mean the one starting in 2005. I would not recommend the 26 seasons of Doctor Who before that till you become a fan of the series.)

Even I don't know that bit of backstory .. they don't die naturally but they can be killed.
Oh man the last episode of PoI was crazy. Even Race and Race 2 didn't have these many twists!
PoI is taking itself too seriously now .. urgh.

Seen The Shield? He literally kills the character there. Amazing performance. Every show he chooses, he has a secondary role, but he somehow snatches away the limelight from the leading character.
Indeed. The best performance of Goggins is The Shield without doubt. Amazing series unfortunately less talked about and underrated IMO. I picked it up after the recommendation in this thread and saw the whole thing in one stretch. Terrific serial. The series finale left me in despair for a few days!
ok..now i know wat i am gonna watch nextIts about a biker gang and the stories that revolve around them in the fictional town called Charming. Wonderful serial. The main character in the series is the most hated one as well. A milf!
