English TV series discussion

WTF 250 episodes !!

I am looking for something "Chota Pack, Bada Dhamaka" kind of series :D:p

Less episodes but loads of fun and Good plot/story to continue with.

Too bad cause it's awesome horror/fantasy universe by Joss Whedon (The guy behind Firefly and Marvel Movies).

For smaller shows I recommend House of Cards, True Detective, The Wire (5 seasons with total of 60 episodes).

Black Mirror is awesome. It's an anthology series about the negative side of technology, and each episode explores and portrays a unique story. Check it out if you haven't already. One of the best shows content wise if you ask me. It's like reading a collection of brilliant short stories, only in a TV format.

@blkrb0t
First episode the National anthem was little to much for my taste but still I like the series overall specially the second episode fifteen million merits..
I think that was exactly the point they're trying to make. It was shocking indeed. Makes us feel like one of the viewers.

HOOOOLLLLLYYYYYYY SHHHHHIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!

Mind = blown
Bleh...you're such a fanboy :D It's decent; nothing mind blowing. Prison Break-style plot devices, twists and turns with the Machine in the background.

Oh come on... the machine is a character (or an organization according to creators). And its a very well made sci-fi technothriller. Also the stakes are high.

As for the latest episode, it is being praised all over.

Come on... the season 2 finale proved otherwise, and since then it is just trotting on. It is a decent show and I enjoy it, but nothing mind blowing or worth going gaga over. They are just stretching the plot devices thin now.

:eek:
Dude, season 3 is getting much better reviews from IGN and tvfanatic. Seriously.

Only TV show which I can compare POI in terms of pacing, arcs and character development is Buffy, which is not in the same genre.

I'm really starting to dig Seinfeld now. George is hands down the best character. Here's one of his line:

"Is that right? I just threw away a lifetime of guilt-free sex and floor seats for every sporting event in Madison Square Garden, so please, a little respect, for I am Costanza, lord of the idiots!"

I'm done with season 2. Also, I'm a bit confused as to what is the actual episode count per season. It doesn't seem to be fixed. The first had 6 episodes, second had 13 and I see the third has a whopping 22 episodes. Good thing is that they are pretty short, so it's not that big a deal.

Also got the first season of 'Arrow', which I'll start this weekend.

Onto 6th Season of Sons of Anarchy now. Should hopefully complete this weekend.
I am waiting for several of the running shows to complete their seasons, like The Walking Dead, Supernatural, Parks and Recreation, TBBT etc so i can start with their latest seasons.
Will check my stash and see what to start next after SoA.

Seinfeld is one of the few shows that "earned" its spot.

It wasn't going to be picked up after the pilot aired, but one exec believed in it, so they got he equivalent of 3 1 hour "specials".

S1 did enough to get a low episode count S2 which again did well enough to get a full S3. (to S9)

S4 and "the contest" is the point at which it skyrocketed.

Imagine being any other network going up against NBC in the mid-90's. You were competing against Seinfeld+Friends+Fraiser+Mad about you on the same night :O
