English TV series discussion

Rewatched The Wire, GOT, all major US comedies.

Watching Black Sails Episode V, Brooklyn 99 & Musketeers. Black Sails is extremely entertaining & stunningly beautiful locations. South Africa I think.

I don't know if this is good new but NBC’s ‘Heroes’ to Return as Miniseries in 2015

http://variety.com/2014/tv/news/nbc-to-revive-heroes-franchise-as-miniseries-in-2015-1201116954/

First season was easily best among any tv series at that time, but after that it has gone downhill..

First 24 and now Heroes, look like NBC script writer is out of idea right now...
Well I'm waiting for 24. And the heroes was my first tv show from were i get addicted means really passionate with tv shows and starts downloading them.

Yes heroes first season was very impressive. I saw second episode that's reason I start watching english tv shows. And now I don't watch any hindi tv may be some time but often if I sitting parents. But enjoy watching channel like discovery and national geography and cartoon network :).

Anyone finished House of Cards season 2? Should i download the 2 seasons. Is the show worth watching?
Also, can someone recommend interesting shows based in earlier time period like The Americans?

^^Don't miss out on House of Cards. If possible, watch the older BBC version of it too.[DOUBLEPOST=1393242768][/DOUBLEPOST]Looks promising. Might turn out to be a great dramedy.

HEROES is returning :D The first show that I saw. <3

Black Sails is epic. So many titties its hard to not drool :p

House of Cards has to be one of the best shows on TV right now, right up there with Game of Thrones. Its a very satisfying show.

True detective is fantabulous. I cant imagine anyone else other than Matthew in the role of Cohle. Also, im getting more enlightening life philosophies from Cohle than Osho and Krishnamurthi combined. Also, the sombre tone adds to the aura of the show.

so i have have to finish first 3 eps of TWD 4.5.. :(
man watching TWD is like doing an undesirable chore ..a thing you dont like but still cant avoid
also heard the ep9 is a bore fest...if others are saying this.. dunno how boring it will be for me

Watching TWD has become like paying Child Support to wife you divorced years ago .. just keep doing it and hope that one day you won't have to anymore.

then why keep watching?. i just stop watching shows which cant sustain my interest. american horror story season 3 was just so full of b**chy drama, i couldnt finish it . and even though sleepy hollow has good reviews, it made me very sleepy towards later episodes

I stopped some of the highly acclaimed shows (here as well as IMDB and such) like Six Feet Under, Sopranos. Someone people may have loved it but i just could not garner interest and gave up after 1st season itself. I am not saying the show is bad, they may be excellent but just did not work for me.

Btw currently at the last episode of season 2 of SoA. I am liking this series.

On the topic of hoarding and watching shows you longer enjoy.

Just get rid of it all. Anything and everything you have is transient. Newer and better standards will keep coming out rendering your entire current collection moot.
It used to be Axxo, now it's Yify or full BRrips if you have a huge screen, tomorrow it will be 4K rips. All your efforts to organize are most assuredly doomed :).

I have been through all this careful cataloging of DVDrips on DVDRs and they just gather dust now.
Simply watch and delete and move on. You will be the saner for it.

I have a fairly decent 2Mbit connection which can allow me to go on a hoarding spree but at some point you just gotta stop.
This might hurt your ability to re-watch stuff on the fly but sheer peace of mind trumps everything :).

I have around set up 500 GBs on my laptop + 1 TB External HDD for all my storage needs.
The Laptop is for shows I'm currently watching and External is to hoard,
with the purpose of mainly sharing the stuff i've downloaded. And watching stuff while travelling.

When ever I exceed I just delete something off the External to make room,

As broadband speeds keep increasing, I'm sure many hoarders will wilfully delete all their content and make room for more personal stuff. Currently though, hoarding is perfectly justified to a certain extent. I myself keep a few TV shows and a lot of movies on my external hard disks, but I keep deleting them regularly to make room for newer stuff.

Sometimes you just feel so attached to a series or a movie that you are not ready to get rid of it, but as time passes your views change too. You won't feel as compelled to keep it in your collection then. Realizing this is in itself a bit of emotional disappointment  Just goes on to show how attached we've become to data; just a random sequence of 0s and 1s arranged beautifully :)

You missed better internet connection. Who knows maybe things that take an hour to download might take 5-10 mins in future
