English TV series discussion

Sense8 from The Wachoswki brothers on Netflix. It seems the whole joint narrative is becoming a new trope in Hollywood..where something critical is happening at one place in the story (could be place/time) and simultaneously, something critical is happening at another part. Example climax of X-Men Days of Future Past, two climatic events in different timelines or Cloud Atlas etc

The same narrative is used by having 8 strangers joined by one thread and feeling each other. So premise its still intriguing but...if you look too closely you will find issues. Specially while wachoswki are named as directors, there have been "location specific" directors. This means there are parts which are totally disjointed in the way its shot and works. This makes watching a complete episode a painful experience at times. Best option is to fast forward and you might enjoy it a bit ;)

I liked the pilot of Wayward Pines but the second episode reminded me too much of the many other stuck in an isolated town series which all turned boring quick. Will give it another chance.

Sense8
A group of people around the world are suddenly linked mentally, and must find a way to survive being hunted by those who see them as a threat to the world's order.
Sense8 tells the story of eight strangers: Will (Smith), Riley (Middleton), Capheus (Ameen), Sun (Doona), Lito (Silvestre), Kala (Desai), Wolfgang (Riemelt) and Nomi (Clayton), each individual from a different culture and part of the world. While living their everyday lives they suddenly have a vision of the violent death of a woman called Angelica (Hannah) and find themselves reborn as Sensates; otherwise normal human beings who are mentally and emotionally connected, being able to communicate, sense, use each other's knowledge, language and skills. While trying to both live their lives and figure how and why this connection happened and what it means, a mysterious man named Jonas (Andrews) possessing the same ability tries to help the eight and protect them from another stranger called Whispers (Mann) who is similarly empowered and is hunting them down to tap into their psychic link and capture them all.

Finally got done with sense8, not recommended for a marathon, found the constant back-and-forth thing to be headache inducing.
Found it funny and irritating at first that they had to include pretty much every kind of character like inter-racial trannies, gay mexicans, etc but that's what the plot called for.
A decent watch if you have nothing to do, would rate 6.5/10 but expected better from the Wachowskis, was surprised by the appearance of Anupam Kher and other bollywood actors.

Also, is it just me or is Hannibal trying a bit too hard to be edgy this season. Not digging it so far and only the third episode was a bit okay.
P.S. NBC just cancelled the show

And as usual there's already a petition

Exactly my thoughts as the sequences in the space of a single episode seemed too jarring and you could see that the Director/DOP are clearly different with different styles which leads to minor headaches instead of the ooh-la-la reaction they were hoping for.

However what they have done is miles apart from any other show this year and I will be watching the 2n season as the plotline has quite a lot of potential notwithstanding the quick switch quirks.

Loved Sense8.

The whole feel of the show is amazing. The back and forth is actually what they wanted to convey. The confusion of 8 people in...okay lets not give spoilers, but you get what I mean.

Its a very well done show. Yes it could have been a lot better, but it gave me the Heroes Season 1 kinda feel and I loved that show!

Justified is over. Top Gear is gone. Hannibal gets cancelled. Person of Interest gets a half season to wrap-up and that's gone too.

Might as well just switch to Hindi or Korean dramas.
