English TV series discussion

The Consultant - Pretty lame. Wasn't much good from the start except the intrigue they managed to generate. I was tricked too to watch till the end. But the end sucked even more.

The Day Of The jackal - Good Decent thriller.

Catching The Agency weekly.. Like it a lot
Watched Black Doves.. Decent with some looming loop holes but watch it and your ll enjoy

Castlevania: Nocturne: 7.5/10

Good enough. If you liked season 1, you'll mostly like this too.
Story wise not much going on, the entire season is set up for the ultimate battle. Overall satisfying enough, but not as good as the original Castlevania show.
Some animations are too good, esp during the battle, you can even feel the power levels of each character and how much force they are using to battle each.
Some impressive scenes: The ending shot of how Drolta gets sliced , all the members battling the enhanced Erzsebet..
Songs used for Edouard's singing are awesome.

Landman - A breath of fresh air. Too good. I am hooked by 3rd episode. Presents Oil Industry case from their perspective and makes a very good job of it without being a propaganda BS.

Severance - It's USP is it's weirdness. It's as slow as molasses on one leg, but intrigue factor made me complete S1. Majority scenes are cast walking in spotless hallways. Casting and Performances in 1st season are excellent. In absence of action, sex, profanity or any other typical elements, performance of the cast is what carries it. It still couldn't escape the unnecessary insertion of woke elements though.

S2 first episode doesn't look promising to me. Main female antagonist is gone and her second in command looks way watered down. Let's see when I am able to muster enough courage to restart the S2.

I don't get Severance, or the hype around it.
They don't explain the things going on - like what they do actually (MDR)? the weird white corridors? Goats ? People on the speaker? What's the company Lumen's agenda? What Cobel's angle? And I don't really enjoy the plot, with so much unexplained things.

And I am confused, why everyone love this show so much? what am I missing?

I saw 1st episode and gave up. Didn't interest me.
Maybe I'll try again later.

You are not missing anything. Tastes are subjective. And not "everyone" loves this show. There are many who didn't like the pace and plot.

All these are the reasons why I love Severance. Keeps me hooked, wanting to know what's gonna happen. It is not based on a book or video game so no one knows where it's headed hence no spoilers and the fans come up with theories behind the unexplained things.

The above user explained it well. I saw the first episode just to try it out before any hype or any info since I got a free Apple TV subscription with my newly bought iPad. It felt very different compared to other TV shows I had watched in the past hence why I liked it. Parts of it does remind me of the movie 'The Truman Show' though.
