English TV series discussion

Since I haven't watched Twin Peaks, I only learnt now that a dance hit from the 90s called Go samples the beginning of a track called Laura Palmers theme from Twin Peaks.

Course Lynch threatened to sue Moby and only relented when Moby told him he was obsessed with the Twin Peaks series. Moby would go on to become very successful as an artist in the years after with his music used in movies as well as ads.

You definitely should, it is one of the great David Lynch's masterpieces and love Laura's theme. Here is Angelo Badelamenti explaining how he composed it
Angelo did great work...Laura's theme is fine but I liked this one much better -

I don't know what kind of music this is, like synth or something else, not sure...but this kind of music feels awesome. People of 80s must have had the best music ever (my opinion).

Started zero day
My kind of stuff, loving it.. Onto 2nd episode
As it is big fan of Robert De Niro

It won't disappoint - director is leslie linka glatter who also directed eps of Homeland - so its got that vibe with the distopian-techno-thriller angle which is what made me enjoy it a lot.
Really enjoyed Zero Day - an excellent watch after a long time of these streaming platforms generating mostly mediocre/garbage content haha.

After watching the first ep at the end credits saw the director name Leslie Linka Glatter - does that name ring a bell for you like it did for me?

Yep she also directed some eps of Homeland and this made me stick around to watch the remaining episodes almost binged them.

Loved the techno-thriller angle coz that's what computer nerds like me prefer.

This reminded me of another nice one called "Pine Gap" which was on Netflix some time back.

Finished Zero Day..
Very nice.. How they managed to interweave a conspiracy and character development together..
Pacy, thrilling, and somewhat realistic (that's debatable)..the ending I found a tad bit underwhelming but still pretty nice and good.
Highly recommended this 6 part miniseries...

I have been a fab of Robert De Niro since I watched the godfather movies and the ronin...
He did full justice to his role..

Zero Day (2025): Solid show and very well directed. Could have very well mounted to a gibberish plot but it's actually well thought out and written. Robert De Niro's acting is flawless and takes the show to another level. The man is also so fit at 81. For those who have watched Lizzy Caplan in the show Fatal Attraction (2023) with Joshua Jackson just know how different her role in that show was vis-a-vis the character she plays in this show. What a talented lady she is! Seeing Angela Basset was a pleasant surprise too... how well she has aged. Jesse Plemons did a terrific job as well. Great actually to see such familiar faces in this show, all together working as a cohesive unit.

Severance - Season 2, Episode 7: I think after watching this show in it's entirety I will end up having a phobia of closed white corridors with closed doors!

In any case, this episode did a lot of explaining. Somehow though for the last two episodes my sense of intrigue has been amiss when watching this show. It's beginning to feel a little stretched and boring. It's just me though, I'm pretty sure but hey I get to voice my feelings and opinions here so yeah.

Also, started Reacher - Season 3. Completed watching first two episodes. It's quite amazing how quickly this season can put you straight into the frying pan of action! Always good to see Alan Ritchson being a badass!
