Re: Fair Practises: TE Market Recommendations

Once a Day ... Bump Should Allowed ...

More Than 1 Bump a Day = Spam :hap5:

Friendly Bump By other in Ur thread Should be allowed:bleh:

Re: Fair Practises: TE Market Recommendations

the problem i've noticed with 'friends' bumping for u is that the thread gets bumped every few minutes or even a couple of hours.

Re: Fair Practises: TE Market Recommendations

I really feel friends bumping threads should not be allowed. Also, claiming that the price quoted is either low high or too less. If a potential buyer claims price is too high, then the seller can defend himself. There is no need for any third person to step-in with his "expert" comments.

^^LOL as long as your original price is fair, I don't see a problem selling it at the price quoted without haggling... Of the last few things i've sold, i've had to go down in price only on one item... the dfi mobo thats it. Everything else no haggling... sold it at exactly the price i quoted ;).

I hope that reduction in the DFI price wasn't too much of an issue :P

I have failed to sell anything here at the price i have stated :P people always ask it for less :P
Liar.:bleh:
You shouldn't hurt Zhops's sentiments- you said people always ask, doesn''t mean you always relent.
But now since you have mentioned it, seems like i may expect some discount.:ohyeah:

Yeah, Market traffic is quite high now and sometimes not so old threads disappear into page 2 or beyond very fast.
Its not very great coz as a newbie- i never ventured beyond page 1 and missed out on some good deals then.:ashamed:
So a bump a day or atleast once in 2 days.:cool2:
For emergencies, where original seller/buyer can't make it online- someone on their behalf may be allowed- to be later acknowledged by original seller/buyer.:)

Agreed.

Hehehe...
I second that.
Hopefully no more 'awesome' or 'not-so-awesome' type comments by anyone else- means no more pushing or crapping sales- to ensure Fair Practice.:cool2:
If one is on TE- they are bound to be wise (or wisen up with time/exposure/help).:cool2:
It should be more of a private interaction between buyer and seller.
One can always consult friends/advisors/wellwishers on IM/PM/phone/... or only technical aspects via threads in relevant section .:)

Nah- Chaos is too loaded to mind a lil discount.:P

Seeing the response here, the issue of "friends and members bumping threads" with ridiculous posts like awesome deal etc will be taken care of soon. We will be implementing a no-bumping other than by the original seller rule with a few exceptions pretty soon.

Why not implement this rule in market section:

Only the thread starter is allowed to post in his FS/WTB thread. Give it a thought. Any one interested in the items will use PM to contact the seller.

This way:

- We cut out the thread crapping which we find here. This was there is no means to crap the thread.

- Friends cant push/pull the sale by awesome deal, etc posts.

- We keep the traffic in the market section to a minimum. We keep all the buyer/seller talks to a minimum and other people sales are not affected because of some guy giving out the same for a cheaper price.

Regards,
Karan

Problem is the deal would be done behind doors. and if there is an issue, ppl wouldn't know who to believe. then the accusations start flying. wasnt that the whole reason u started this thread? :P

^^ Rule is already going to be implemented but stifling out all communication in market section doesn't sound reasonable. If you are talking about a hack that does this we'll have to discuss all the advantages and pitfalls of having such a hack. About thread crapping, we have time and again asked members to report posts so we can take care of it.

Edit: Masky put up a valid point himself.

Why this double stand on this issue? For example... you TOTALLY DISCLAIM and responsibility for trades done on TE. This is just stating it in a more concrete way :) Still the recommendations in the OP hold.... in PM i.e. :)

What the Market on TE needs is 3 to 5 simple guidelines for buyers/sellers to follow... one of the guidelines should be only 1 bump per day by the seller, if required. No free or discounted bumps - as a seller, I don't need them.

Secondly, XS has a good policy of 100 posts before you can sell anything on the forum - kinda makes sense.

It's also best that the deal is between buyer and seller, with TE out of the picture (other than ensuring the market rules are adhered to by those who choose to trade here).

@Karan, I don't mean to steal your thunder but I'd suggest you come up with 3 - 5 guidelines that buyers and sellers should pay heed to during a trade :)

Never set things in stone..... :P Why 3-5... I did it better.... neways going OT. XS is dealing withe entirely different magnitudes... it has atleast 10x members compared to TE. So they can afford to have min 100 post count.

I agree with Masky and Bladey, that we its a bit too critical to curb on posting powers of others, but the mods can be a bit strict and be impartial to all and NOT allow OT of any sort. I know I have indulged in crapping and OT myself and so have many others, but those were genuine slips... IMHO, unless asked dont comment on the FS/WTB.

1 bump a day, 50 posts min. to sell stuff here. We've already got dealers (Viking.. hint, hint) setting up shop here.. shouldn't we discourage this?
