Its amazing, Abhinav Bindra, Kapil Dev (maybe 2nd best sporting moment in Indian history) and Kalpana Chawla all very closely related to Chandigarh. Legends :)

I am happy to finally see India winning a gold at the olympics for the first time in my life . Lets hope Saina Nehwal gets another one.....and one from Mr Rathore.....and another from Lee-Hesh ......looks like I am getting too optimistic :P

PS:If anyone knows, please post if bindra has yet to compete in any other events .
 
I wish the bloody sport is banned for an year and all the Money be sent for sch budding sports and related activities.

i kno nobody has got the balls to yank off the money these politician siphon off.. so cricket shd be given a rest.

Sports is entertainment.....if the product and marketing is good it sells...Cricket is subsidisng different sports now..think bcci is giving out good amount of money to no cricketing sports...what more can it do...ask sreesanth and sachin to try and promote fencing and gymnastics?
 
Finally after a long wait India has won a gold in Olympics....Congrats to A. Bindra. Followed his recent victories closely...He was one of the favorites to win the event.....

Hard work paid off ....

Letz see if India can overcome some odds and win a few more medals

This guy has a advanced computerized shooting practice facility in his backyard... which is much more advanced than any other practice facility in India.

they have like a tonne of dosh.. a REAL tonne of dosh i mean..

And here we have various state governments and sports bodies trying to outdo each other in the amount of prizes they are giving him..(which still is in the realms of a lakhs only)..

that sorta money is pocket change for him.

it would be very refreshing to see him come out with some sort of an initiative for shooters with all the money he is being given. coz he sure doesnt need it.
 
I find it funny maharashtra giving him only 10 lakhs...but when it comes to cricket when sachin will break lara record this amount will surely b more than double...or may b a crore...same with bcci...they gave 10Cr for 20-20 cup winners...i guess this is the biggest achievement ever in whole history even bigger than 1983 world cup win...still they gave 25 lakhs and dont have shame even to say see we are promoting other sports....

Even economically worst state Bihar giving him more amount than what maharshtra gave him....The only hope is sponsor...who need to take stuffs in hand to nurture future talents..i still have little hope now frm govt
