As of now, still veyron is the fastest production car.But its rumoured that Barabus TKR beats that with 270M/h.

The FASTEST car in the world is ThrustSSC with 2 jet engines and doing 1,228 km/h (763 mph). Its driven by a pilot (really!) and its direction is controlled byu the rear wheel (just like WW2 planes).

Lol...Mr.Kumar has to pay up 7.1 crores for the damage :P

Thats almost twice the cost of a fully loaded Maybach

tragic...... really really tragic.

Of course, those chaps wont lose the money....they would lose only a part of it...the insurance company would pay them back the cash if they write it off.... I guess they should return at least 80% of the money...

^^^Thats a big IF as its not clear if that thing has an insurance.

Guess he's insured

Yesterday insurance assessors were left examining what remained of the supercar - capable of reaching a top speed of 253 mph - and deciding whether the vehicle could be repaired or is destined for the breakers' yard.

he hard a small part in it, i see him driving with the rear spoiler down, now thats a big no no as it is and especially if its raining, but the thing is people who can afford such cars dont really care about it or the engineering behind it, it just bragging rights for them...

yup!It holds true with mobiles too!some guys who have n93s dont even know how to use 10% of the features it offers.

the spoiler is raised or lowered automatically depending on the speed right

^ Yep thats what i thought too.

From Wikipedia:

"When the car reaches 137 mph (220 km/h), hydraulics lower the car until it has a ground clearance of about 3 1/2 inches (8.9 cm). At the same time, the wing and spoiler deploy. This is the "handling" mode, in which the wing helps provide 770 pounds (3425 newtons) of downforce, holding the car to the road."

I dont think so.When u need to go FAST u need to insert a key near the door. This causes the car to lower down and the spoiler is retracted.

Ah yes true, though you need the "Top Speed mode" (as they call it) only to cross 235mph. Even then the handling mode is turned back on the minute you touch the brakes or turn the steering wheel more than 90 deg.

Then again regardless of the mode, the spoiler/wing will deploy whenever you hit the brakes to act as a sort of "air brake" - so i'm guessing the spoiler/wing probably retracts itself automatically once it stops.

The Veyron isn't a very good car in the first place. Little more than an egotrip for Bugatti - "whee I am fast in a straight line" - when everyone knows any decent sports car would smoke it around a circuit ;)

And it's ugly...
