I think members here are too hard on flipkart. Well I only buy fashion products from Flipkart and my experience is good so far. I don't buy smartphones so no idea about it. Shopping experience on Amazon is pathetic but product variety is extremely good so I buy from Amazon. For me,
Amazon pros - More product variety, chat support is good, dispute resolution is good.
Cons- Website looks like an old 1998 piece of junk with so many useless things; it is worse than even facebook, product description sometimes non existent, packaging especially for expensive items is downright shameful (shame on you Amazon), self shipping needed for returns of non Amazon fulfilled orders, refunds and returns are slow, fashion category is not that good.
Flipkart pros - Site interface better than Amazon, dispute resolution is very good, lightning fast pick ups and refunds, fashion category is awesome, pick ups arranged even for non flipkart assured items, shipping is faster than Amazon.
Cons - Less product variety, have to attend calls from cc to get info on refunds of most non flipkart assured items (still better than selfship).
I bought one monitor from flipkart but that was in 2014 so I cannot comment on packaging of expensive items.
So far I haven't face any major issues with both these sites. Amazon is slow and never refunds automatically if the product is not Amazon fulfilled. I always have to call or message them to get my refund. Flipkart on the other hand calls me and refund the money even if the pick up is not done yet (for non flipkart assured items). No issues in both Amazon and Flipkart for fulfilled/assured items.
