Flipkart deals

Was considering legal action
Flipkart has been doing open box deliveries for a while now, how did you fail to check even the first thing about the product?

I understand it's easy to blame companies for everything, but why do we fail to do even the most basic steps and then blame the companies for it, going so far as to threatening legal action? If you order a product knowing it's not returnable, and still don't even check the product at the time of delivery when they are allowing you that facility (of open box delivery), then it's really not their fault.

I agree

Personal experience with many courier handlers refusing open box delivery during the delivery time. They literally say we cannot complete all deliveries if we follow all rules. FK's CC is useless in these cases, they either take too long to respond or just say that OBD is at the will of last mile agents.
I just refuse delivery nowadays even if it means long time for refunds from FK since the whole system is so messed up.

This may be the case.

Thankfully the products I've ordered recently for my family members (fridge and washing machine) both had delivery partners who themselves opened the box and asked them to verify the product.

But if the product had open box delivery, I would insist on it before sharing OTP or accepting the delivery, since these products can't be returned.

Because one can not always be present at time of delivery. The person accepting the delivery did check for a working laptop but was not capable of checking brand and model to cross verify. Also, the delivery agent refused to even wait for all the checking, claiming he was behind on his deliveries and that if there’s any issue we should call him. This is on camera along with audio.

Regardless, I disagree with your contention that Flipkart is not at fault here. Open box delivery and other such anti consumer policies are just that - internal policies. They have absolutely no bearing on the law. There is an implied and actual contract for exchange of goods where in I have paid a certain amount of money for a specific product. In this case the basic terms of this contract have not been fulfilled. What they have done is literally the definition of fraud.

Therefore, I am not only comfortable but also confident in taking legal action if it comes to that. Furthermore, I am also in a good position to file a chargeback with my credit card company if I choose to.

Update: Flipkart are now willing to accept a return along with a Full Refund. No replacement option. I am also allowed to keep the wrongly delivered item at my discretion.

For a mobile phone I ordered, the delivery person refused to let me insert a SIM card before he ran away with PIN. He said open box means that you just see that it is a phone, no scratches etc, for any other complains contact Flipkart.

Consumers are at no obligation to learn the confusopoly of vendors' myriad rules, however long they've been running the scam. Especially when their "delivery partners" are not following them.

Ordered an 2tb sata ssd. Beat up box, even the seal had double tape. Opened and installed it, checked with aida64 and hd tune, serial number on box matches what's reported in HD tune.
How do I test if it's 2tb?View attachment 154963View attachment 154964
So got an call flipkart, they offered to replace or refund , but as I did not have issues with ssd, I told them this is last time I am buying from FK. And as an token they gave me ₹500 voucher. I said thanks and hung up.

i5 12 gen at 10350 inclusive of bank offer and supercoin offer
Beware of no returns & the fact that people got a different CPU from Flipkart than the ordered one, even through RetailNet.

Got the Inno3d 3060 12GB for 24500. Took the open box delivery. Comes tomorrow. Is this a good or atleast a decent deal? Otherwise I will cancel. Though I do see ~₹30k price elsewhere.
Not much of a PC gamer anymore, 1080p occasional/rare gaming + use CUDA for ML, but trying future proof for the next 3-4 years.

No returns is deal breaker. And flopkart delivery guy's nakhras can put bollywood heroines to shame if you take more than a few seconds to inspect open box / product. My GF told me her uncle ke driver ka beta ka dost got MSI Ventus 3 fan 3060 12gb OC at 30k offline. 2 fan ones are going for ~27.5k.

It is probably a used GPU. Check the seals on both sides of the box. If the box is not sealed then reject it. People have got used GPU's in such so called 'steal deal'.
