alright. i would love to use & explore iOS too, but sadly, i guess the iPads are out of my reach presently, esp. the iPad 3. getting the earlier contender against the Nexus 7 when i was in the last phase of choosing between tabs - the Nook HD+ (32GB model, for about the same price as the N7 32GB model); 9" screen, with a better display, very conducive to reading (PDFs and ezines alike), and videos i would watch windowed, as i was doing on the N7 too, as SD videos didn't/don't look good stretched out. i think MX Player would allow that, ie, windowed-viewing?
 
Try screen dimmer app for night reading... I use it constantly on my Android devices... Can be used by no rooted users too... I remember when I bought my n7 last year it had some auto brightness bugs which would constantly adjust the brightness up and down... I think it might be just some software issue.... Buy or use lux auto brightness app if you want thorough control over auto brightness

Not sure really. Thinking going big so might as well get a 10-incher. Why drop an inch?
Any suggestions anyway?[DOUBLEPOST=1386942197][/DOUBLEPOST]Aah you're talking about the nook hd aren't you? That seems like quite a kickass tab. A friend is bringing one for his sister and says when she gets bored of it in a month lol, will give it to me for free!
 
asked because for an affordable price (plus, accounting for 10-15% discount), the Nook HD+ offers better in some deptt.s than the Lenovo tab, but is a 9 incher. don't know if there's a larger tab with the same specs and in the same price-range or not.
 
Looks like I have received DOA nexus 7 :mad: It won't turn on. I have connected it to charger for last half an hour. Screen just flickers for a moment after 10-15 sec.
Whats RMA/replacement process for flipkart?
 
Are you using a proper charger? The 500ma chargers some mobiles use won't even give it a 10% charge after 2 hours of charging!

I'm using the one that came with it. Screen is supposed to show a big charging battery even if it's off. Screen just won't turn on. It just flickers. I will put it on charger for some more time. Let's see.
 
Maybe it's just the charger that's broke. Try using a different 1A+ charger for a bit and see...[DOUBLEPOST=1386946186][/DOUBLEPOST]Does this make any sense for ~14k shipped?

there have been such cases earlier as well. try to ascertain whether its charger-fault or really the tab is dead, by using some other similar charger, and write to Flipkart. replacement is easy and within 2-4 days you will have a new tab delivered to you.[DOUBLEPOST=1386946788][/DOUBLEPOST]

can't say about the processor, but looks good. check youtube if there are any user-videos on it.

Just contact their call centre and describe the problem. They will ask a few questions and if you still can't get it to charge they will initiate a pickup and send out a replacement under their 30 day replacement policy.

Don't bother connecting to other chargers etc. since firstly that can be grounds for voiding the warranty and second it's a new product and is supposed to charge when plugged in and that is covered by the warranty.

I just received my nexus 7 2012 16 gb @ 7999 . No screen issues . Sealed piece . Auto brightness all ok . Ordered it two days ago .
