Formula One - European Grand Prix

^^ well.. its easy for us to sit here and contemplate what one shud have done or not :P

today morning, my friend was placed 2nd.. he was 36 seconds behind and he had 2 rounds of SSS to catch up.. the 3rd place was 10 seconds behind. My friend's car stalled on the track.. and he lost 17 seconds. after the first round he was now in 3rd place, 7 seconds behind the 2nd place guy.. in the second round he made up 5 seconds over the 2nd place guy, but he had to settle for 3rd place :( and this aint no local race am talking about.. this was the INRC, Mysore round..

the point is, as a driver one never settles for second best.. one wants the top step on the podium and rightly so :)

Mclaren got the fastest car this season, thats what matters, this year it's a long season and still there is enough time for kii to catch up with, but it would be very difficult for others to catch up with alonso, now that the GP shifts to north america...
And all ppl who said ferrari will win this race, it's not logic to say ferrari will win ( and say blindly) when they got a car which is slower than mclarens, renaults and even williams. All that they can hope is that some drivers make mistake or meet with a accident and grab the 4-5-6... place :P

of course :P .. and it doesnt matter if kimi's cars dies mid-race or even the last lap :P

But that was better than what M "shoemach" did at hungary GP 3 years ago..., R Barrichello was leading till some 100 m before the chequred flag, and this man overtook him, which rubens should have won.

And he shamelessly give his trophy to him.. and we all know wht happened at laureus sports award the next year...
The headlines the next day..

" KING "shoemach" LEAVES HUNGARY BEGGING FOR POINTS FROM HIS TEAM MATE"
aND MIKA AND KIMI incidents were bad luck and were not like what the cobbler did...

well...believe it or not..mclaren this year is one of the best cars on track if not THE BEST!
as for this little accident on last lap...doesn't show anything abt their unreliability. It was a normal tyre problem that eventually turned out to be big one :P And yes, the ferrari this year is not as fast as some of you may think. They need to improve as well :)

drgrudge, i kinda guessed u wud bring that up.. but u shud cehck the archives too u know.. check how "good" and "holy" and "noble" McLaren have been in the past ;)

besides, it was a team decision and if u are a part of the team you should respect that. I am not saying it was right nor am I saying it was wrong. But if u have signed a contract, u better honour it :)

BTW, what happened at the Laureus awards?

hmmm...
That KING "shoemach" has been beating your Kimis And Alonsos for a long time. It won't be long that he starts beating them again. Mark my words "Ferrari is going ro strike back" :hap2: So a bit of respect should be there while calling his name. Its Schumacher.
And Kimi and McLaren

Wasnt it the Austrian GP? :S

And BTW Ferrari is not slower than a Renault or a Mclaren if you put them on a level playing field(ie similar tyres and fuel load)...which was clearly demonstrated at Imola.

Did you heard what they both said in the press conferance after the race?
They were instructed to do so. Ferrari boss wanted to make sure he wins both drivers and constructors championship and not only drivers championship.
Its too big to give it away. The money wise and pride wise both.
Its been proven that whichever company wins the drivers or constructors F1 championship reports increase in their road car market.
Has happened every single time. Millions of $$$ are at stake here.
If you risk it then you end up like Kimi did yesterday.
If he would have taken a stop to change tyre he would have got some points. And it will matter in the end. Its gona be very hard now for anyone to catch Alanso. Kimi had a definite chance. He still has but now its 10 times harder with 0 points in his bag from this race. Alanso is here bcoz he has finished each and every race with points this year.

That incidenr had nothing to do with the McLaren reliability problem. Its just that Kimi locked his brakes and scrubbed his tyre off uneven that led to vibrations and ultimately to suspension damage.
It was indeed kimi's mistake no one could have done anything bout it except that they could have changed the tyre to get some points.

Hmm..., my post stirred up the hornets nest :D

No problem... :)

Lol man, yeah it beat them for most of the times...till now...

Cobbler is 36+ yrs old, kimi and alonso are both less than 25yrs. We shall see who will rule... :bleh:

Also even in this season, renaults and mclarens got a better car (terms of faster car). U have been saying that ferrari will a GP from the monaco GP (where speeds don't matter much) and this has not happened till now..., and u continue to say this and alonso and kimi have been winning the GP! :cool2:

I think it was in Budapest, but not 100% sure ..., correct me if i am wrong.

Ferrari choose bridgestone tyres, and it's their fault if they went for it. And regarding the fuel load, it's their race strategy, even williams had a less fuel load at nurburgring...fuel load need not be same for all the cars, it all matter how they cross the chequered flag.

I honestly don't remember what they said.

It was a shame what they did, even "shoe" was feeling guilty, his body language and his actions spoke for him. All the major newspapers carried headlines abt this "shameless" action, even Some indian newspapers had some bad articles abt this incident (even sportstar had a article). You can google and read for yourself.

This a long season my dear. Even drivers other than alonso or kimi has a outside chance of winning the drivers championship, still there are a lot of GP to look forward.

yep its a long season and much to the relief of ferrari fans...
even MS and ferrari still have the chance to win both championships.
only time will tell. :)

Here's something interesting:
McLaren Team boss Ron Dennis said “Kimi was able to cope with the inevitable blurred vision for over 15 laps and the team discussed with him his tyre conditionâ€.

“We jointly decided to go for the win and no member of the team including Kimi regrets this decision. The resulting suspension failure was understandable in the circumstances†he said.

well 32 point lead is not small lead. thats more than 3 complete race wins provided Alanso dosent finish at all. Thats not small lead, its huge lead.
M$ chances are practically over this year.
I havent seen anyone makeup 32 point difference ever since i am watching F1. Such strong car and a very good mature driver like Alanso will be very difficult to beat now.
