ferrari get nothing outta it.. they are outcasts.. its due to them we have this kinda fiasco...

They get 18 points(hopefully). And ROss Brawn has said that this is a black day for F1. And he said "the blame lies squarely with Michelin".

You cannot change fact. Michelin screwed up big time. Why should Ferrari give in???

Anyway this debate can go on and on.... let us discuss the other aspects of the race.

kimi is 8th :yahhhhhhhhhhhhhhoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

or maybe :p

cos technically they started the race............ahahaha

lol...8th without even doing the race..look at the calibre ;)

lol..its time to rejoice...yahooooooooooo
Ferrari 1-2...Michael and Ferrari are champs..WINNERS!!

It's good that ferrari wins once in a while (with jordans and minardis) :bleh:

Mclaren still rulezzzzzzz

Guys!!!

Don't get so excited abt Kimi being in 8th. He is placed 8th. He is not getting any points. He is placed so that this order can be used for qualifying in France. NOt for anything else..... He nor Trulli are getting any points....

Finally, the FIA ruled out the possibility of modifying the track to slow the entry into Turn 13, as this would be outside the rules and also unfair to Michelin’s Bridgestone competitors who have had no problems with their tyres.

Very true..... why should the rules be changed for one crappy company who don't know how to make tyres???

And what I don't get is this --- How can they just install a chicane at that point on the track??? I mean, not literally. They can put up tyre barriers or a mraking or something. But how will the desiggn be??? There is no enough spce there for a chicane!!!

Michelin just tried to wiggle out of a bad situation(for which they had only themselves to blame). And what guarantee was there that NO car would crash at the chicane?? A chicane installed just before the race could do more harm than good. Most drivers would not be used to the chicane and may be going flat out before they remember the chicane.

Whatever..... crappy race......

there is no big deal building a chicane. You could do that and these guys are pros. Some practice runs and it could have worked out for them. Remember narain hadn't ever raced in canada and still he managed to do ok till the wall banging. The only popint doing the chicane was to slow the race up and a very small chicane was all tha was needed.

Btw interesting you say that about crappy companies. Ok michelin got it wrong. Lemme tell you bridgestone were nervous about it too. K they got an advantage here but at what cost. If the top teams don't race, No one wins. People come to f1 to see 20 cars racing not 6 cars of which 4 are crappiest in the lot. Seriously ferrari's decision to go with it has damaged f1 is US ,,, No doubt about it. And top it all they can't even say they won the race... couldn't even enjoy the podium.. they know it that they have done wrong..

Ferrari have not done aything wrong. They know that this race has damaged F1 in US really badly. But don't blame them for Michelin's mistake. BS may have had a problem but at least their tyres did not fling the drivers into a concrete wall at 320 kmph.

And you can go on and on blaming Ferrari for refusing to allow the chicane to be put up. I can go on and aon arguong the same thing ---- Why should Ferrari give in because a rival company made a mistake???

You can go on and on arguing saying that in the name of racing they should have allowed the chicane. It is never ending.

Another thing is this ---- Why should F1 gaIn a big market in US?? So that other comapnies like Toyota, Mercedes, Honda, etc.... can sell more cars in the US byshowing a demonstration of their companies in the US.

But Ferrari have no such worries. They sell whatever cars they can produce. So, for them it is not so important.

This is only one aspect. The other aspect which I have not discussed is abt the money got in the US market in way of sponsorhips, TV Ads, ticket sales, etc.....
Let us be sensible and discuss the other (non-)aspects of the race.

well...i don wanna say this but if nine teams can agree to it for the sake of
drivers safety and in the interest of F1 then why can't FERRARI???
absolutely shameless!! now that they got their first 1-2 this year...
michael on 34 points and 3rd in drivers championship...ferrari 2nd with mclaren
in the constructors, they must be enjoying it to the fullest :bleh:

: (Curt Cavin - Indianapolis Star) I understand that you did not make the decision but can you tell my why Ferrari was not in favour of having a chicane put in at the last minute?
Michael Schumacher: I tell you one story, not so long ago. In Monza we had the death of a marshal and all of us drivers agreed we would want yellow flags for the first two chicanes, and there was no less than two or three team owners that told their drivers ‘you will not respect the yellow flag, just ignore what you have said or not said, we want you to race and we force you to race’ and it is the same people who have been on the other side today. So, Formula One is a tough business, we are working very hard and as I mentioned before we had a tyre that was quicker but we didn’t use it because we knew what was going to face us here. I am not saying the others purposefully chose something wrong, but whatever it is, it is their problem, not our problem. I don’t think you can ask the people who are not responsible for it to take the responsibility.

You know there are lots of issues.
The teams qualified on the original circuits. They practiced on original circuit. They knew original ckt and so did mishelin.
If given this they cant bring out safe tyres and cars then why should Ferrari give up their advantage.
This years rules have screwed up ferrari team totally. Jordan and Minardi had nothing to loose or gain. Ferrari had everything to loose.
If the ckt is to be modified it should have been done on saturday on qualifying. Not before the race.
F1 is dangerous sports. You guys heard what Coulthard said on radio. He wanted to race. So did every single driver i am sure.
Its not about safety. If it was all about safety they wont be racing at all.
Its all about F1 politics and nothing else.
But yeah, what happened was total shame. And all team managers are to blame for this. The circuit is there. You dont modify the circuit at the last moment. It is there as it is for last 4 years in F1.
IMHO Michelin should be one who should get some punishment. Ban em for next season i say.
Shigh where did the days go when people raced F1 with open side and no safety equipments. Even if the car crash aint the cars good enough to protect the drivers these days? They get paid fat, they personally wana race in whatever conditions, they are racers, it was shame to see what happened. Real shame. Punish them hard, dont give em single penny out of the money FIA made out of US GP.

I don't understand y people keep blaming ferrari. Michael bashing seems to have become really fashionable. As far as I understand it, schumi does not make the decisions, the team bosses do. And as for the chicane, FIA's decision will be final, no matter what ferrari or any other team has to say.
Rules are not made to favor the majority.
