Blimey (the makers of GTR 2) together with BMW have released a free BMW M3 simulator.
Features one car (the E92 M3), one track (Nuerburgring GP) and one really superb intro video :P

Darmstadt, September 11, 2007– Today 10TACLE STUDIOS AG and the automobile manufacturer BMW are pleased to introduce the freeware game “BMW M3 Challenge” developed by the racing specialists Blimey!Games at the international automobile trade fair IAA. Now all PC car racing game fans can enjoy the excitement of racing the new car model around the Nürburgring for a few rounds – it isn’t just for interested trade fair visitors anymore.

The virtual sports car, which packs 420 horsepower under its hood, can be downloaded for free at m3challenge: Home or installed from the CDs/DVDs included in games magazines. “BMW M3 Challenge” and its four different playing modes will provide plenty of opportunity for determined practice for the soon starting worldwide online competition where talented drivers can already register on the official homepage. Up to 1000 drivers will compete against each other to prove their racing skills. The candidates will participate in more than 100 races according to the “shoot-out” method, which sends the best of them to the next race, and on to the next, etc., which become progressively more difficult. The length of the races will vary between 5 and 25 rounds. The thrilling live finale will then crown the best of 14 finalists as the victor. Exciting prizes await the “M3 Challenge World Champion”.

The authentic racing feel of the “BMW M3 Challenge” is based on the international game success “GT Legends” award-winning technology, which was customized to duplicate this year’s M3 model in collaboration with the BMW engineers. The car’s performance, sound effects, visuals and the detailed reproduction of one of the most demanding racetracks in Europe, the Nürburgring, provide a thrilling, realistic test drive experience of the new sports car under racing conditions.

TP game. Loving the sideways action :P Where are the TE GTR2/LFS/MOMO/G25 monkeys? How about some racing sometime.. weeknights and weekends? We can probably join a common online server. And for those who've distanced themselves from racing sims, you'd want to try this one. 350MB and free.

Cant I download this using my download manager..... it gets stuck after 110 MB in the firefox default manager

copy the direct link from FF and paste it in flashget. that shud do the trick.

Get to the "Downloads" window in Firefox, cancel the download (if its ON). "Right Click" on the file, "Properties," copy the address next to "From:" and paste it in Flashget

downloaded, installed and ran....

I am just not able to control the car...keeps understeering.

And is there no other settings for me to tinker abt other than the "suspension" ??

And that track is tough...how did you guys already get used to the track ?
 
liked the track. i guess the key to turn right is not to be breaking nor accelerating (continuously) while turning. slow down to the requisite speed, take ur hands off the throttle n break and turn.. it turns easy..

i am a n00b though
EDIT:
just found out the game is soooo much better with the gamepad (X360 controller) than the kbd.. though i still suck with the pad :P
 
If you're oversteering give tiny bits of throttle, if understeering let go. Brake suddenly on a turn and insta-spin. Same thing while speeding out of the turn. Slow down on the straight itself to a speed that will take you around the turn with the minimal throttle/brake inputs while on the right racing line!

When you're ready and comfy with it, lets race! :rofl:

Mouse-steering is actually pretty manageable. Only-Keyboard is hell.
