Am assuming that many of you around here would have already watched Rock on, and would have loved to see how Indian cinema has really come of age.. the movie has its fair share of flaws, but it is a pretty neat flick, and so is the soundtrack of the movie which can easily claim to be the first
Same goes for the soundtrack which can easily qualify as the first OST rock album in Hindi, and esp Zehreelay which is probably the first thrash metal in Hindi I have heard
And then you get to read reviews by some super inane jokers like the one here
Music Reviews | Rock On Music Review | Shankar Ehsaan Loy | Lyricist Javed Akhtar
same goes for the review on rediff which is equally idiotic
Music review: Rock on
I wonder why I even bother with the music & movie reviews on the desi portals
even though i love the fact that bollywood has been improving by leaps & bounds over the last few years, so much so that I have been enjoying my last few bollywood movie outings far more than even the top Hollywood flicks of the last one odd year (a notable exception being Dark Night)
It's rather sad to see how the Indian media (internet as well as TV) has been absolutely going down the drain

Now this one is really one of the biggest disappointments of Rock On!!. A number with lyrics like 'Yahan Pe Saanp Baste Hai, Sabko Saanp Daste Hai' can't really be taken seriously for making inroads into popular segments. Well, believe it or not but there is a song like this that has been titled 'Zehreeley' and it is such an assault on your ears that you want to move on to the next number (or rather even end of the album) without spending any more seconds into it.
