Hi guys,

Western Digital WD5000AAKS- 500GB 7200RPM : Rs 4800/- + shipping at actuals.

The drive: Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD5000AAKS 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM

A review: PC World - Caviar SE16 (WD5000AAKS) - Reviews - Hardware - Storage - Hard Disk Drives (Internal)

Local Indian 5 year warranty Comes with bill. The price is assuming we get atleast 10 orders. If we go beyond that, price will be even lesser.

I am also organizing this GO at few other forums, so I will total the numbers at all the places (because the higher the total numbers, greator the benefit I can get for the community)

appo and zhops got wd's recently and warranty check on WD site showed 5 years warranty

As far as I know, all HDD sold in India irrespective of brand are OEM pieces. Retail Box packed HDD's are not ususally available here.
 
Just to clarify, this will be a OEM piece mostly, and with 5 years warranty. Purchased locally. Will give a copy of the bill (with x number of drivers bought) along with the shipments.

All at actuals buddy. I will prefer sending it to indivisuals, but if someone is ready to take responsibility I can bunch together a lot of drives and you guys can save some cost.

Waiting for that long doesn't make sense. Other people might be interested in completing the GO before that.
