Graphic Cards GPU for 1920X1080

IMO it is always better to play at 14x9 max compared to 19x10 med. So if you want to play at 19x10, it should be max. Else you are better off with 14x9 high-max settings though you will need to upgrade even for that.

@OP : Yes it can handle a 6790,,,, Have you checked the size of the card and the space in your cabby? I have shared pics on everyday showoff thread for reference.

how do 6790 hold up against the 6850 ? my cabby is not that big,,anything longer thn 4850 will not fit my cabby

6790 is about 15% slower compared to 6850, but a lot much better than 5770.... a few reviews on net can solve your doubts. Thats the real problem thats its a 6870 PCB on which 6790 is built. You decide between 550ti ( Nvidia fanboy ;) ) or 6850 as 6790 according to you would not fit in your cabby.

i see,,,gtx460 is few fps better than 6850,,these are the closest cards matching my budget -

msi 6850 1gb - 9,900-theitwares.com

zotac gtx 460 1gb - 9,600-mediahome.in

biostar gtx 460 768mb- 9,500-mediahome.in

zotac gtx 460 768mb - 8,400-mediahome.in

GTX460 is a power hungry card bro... and doesnt beat out 6850 in every game... in some games lags behind and in some games marginally ahead, even the benchmarks are in favour of 6850 in this case. 6850 consumes very less power for the performance level it offers. Sapphire 6850 or MSI 6850 cyclone , both are good choices...stay away from stock MSI 6850...

And if you are getting ZOtac gtx460 768mb at 8.4K then get it eyes closed.

rite, dude, seriously, where do you get these ideas? LCDs at non native resolutions are blurry and they look quite ugly. Its always better to play at native/max resolution with game settings at medium. I just noticed it in FEAR 3 where it looked not so good in 1600*900 resolution with high settings but was extremely wonderful with 1920*1080 with medium settings. You can notice the mentioned difference on desktop itself, give it a try.

@Op

If you plan to upgrade next year, try to get a second hand car within 6k for your needs.

Yes bro, your PSU will support 550ti.... Personally I dont like gtx460 as it is a power hungry card, needs two connector...

the only thing i was bit biased towards 460 that,,using of physics in games like batman..but more n more reading/R&D i am going , I am more inclined towards sapphire 6850 or msi 6850 cyclone

SE = suck edition. Thought you would have guessed it.

Please, if you want FHD gaming, listen to us, and grab the HD6850.

MSI HD6850 Cyclone PE @ 9.8k
or
Sapphire HD6850 @ 9.5k

CX400W will power it easily, HD6850 consumes just a bit more power than HD5770, but can power games at FHD!!!
