Graphic Cards Graphic card buying advice

1. my budget 5k(around)
2. Current rig Specs
CPU Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 Processor - 2.8GHz
Motherboard GIGABYTE GA-EP43-DS3L
RAM 2*2GBTranscend 800Mhz (4GB)
Monitor samsung 2233w (22")
3. SMPS zebranics 400whats...( if u wish i can change)
4. Primary use? Hardcore gaming, Movies
5. What resolution do you game on best what can i get in my price and monitor
( i am using my pc last one year with XFX 8600Gt 256mb DDR3 ram, now card is not working .. the capacitors on the garfic card is broken)

please suggest me a good one ..

sys is phenom II x4 925
asus m4n68t-n, zebronics 500w platinum series psu
2gb ddr3 1333mhz, goin to upgrade to 4gb,
my main aim is photoshop, after effects, premiere pro, flash, video editing and rendering, composing
this is just a backup sys. no sli/crossfire needed
can u recommend a card. In my other system i have a 9600gt.

The best option in that budget is to get a

HD 5670 ~ 5.1k

and a

FSP SAGA 400w ~ 2k.. (get a FSP SAGA 350w if low on budget, although i would recommend you to get the 400w, gives you headroom for small upgrades)

Total comes to around 7.1k

you will have to add in 1k to your budget, but it will be worth it..

HD 4670 is your only option..

and will run on that PSU too...

its performance is almost equal to a 9600gt..

Try mediahome.in..

Zotac and Msi both listed for ~ 3.9k

you can get it from Lyxn-india.com too..

but some members have had "not so good" experiences ..

your call.. :)

The performance difference is ~35-40% between a 1GB GDDR3 based GT220 and 512MB GDDR3 based HD4670.

The difference would be even higher between a 1GB DDR2 based GT220 and 1GB GDDR3 based HD4670.

Unless u are looking for strictly Nvidia based card better get a HD4670.
 
one more doubt ..nvidia is going to release gt 440 card...which is dx11 +similar to gt240 and 5670 in performance...expected price is 99 $ ......what will be the approximate price in India?

Even the GTS450 is yet to be unveiled(to be launched on 13th) in US and it will take 1-2 weeks from US launch for mass availability in India and price stabilization.

$99 cards usually costs ~6k here
 
thanks guys but i was wondering if i oc'd my existing ram to 1600 mhz and kept the inbuilt graphics.. would that suffice?
asus m4n68t-m has an inbuilt 7025 geforce 256mb

mate I would like to buy MSI cards ...not zotac and palit...i believe quality of msi cards are better than zotac and palit......help guys..
 
I could only find the MSI cyclone 1 gig version with mediahome.in..

its better you call them up, maybe the have it, but its not listed..
