As some of you may have read, I am having some problems with Dell. For those who haven't, the story in short is that I ordered a LCD monitor (S2409W) on the 18th of November, under the assurance that they had enough stock, and that I would definitely get it by the 27th of November (rather most likely before then). Long story short, Now it's the 5th of December, and they appear to not have any stock even now, and have given me vague clues that perhaps they won't have any stock till the 12th of December (processing and shipping thereafter putting the tentative delivery date now at 19th of December). :@

I am considering taking action against them for inducing me to purchase the monitor (the first thing they seem to have done is charge my card) under false assurances and misrepresentations.

My story apart, was wondering if anyone else here has had similar experiences with Dell, and if so what steps did they take.

awsome , get ready to be rewarded , no sarcasm meant...call them up and tell them all the inconvinience u have been thru and that u cant wait and u want another standby monitor *say 19"* that they should provide til u get the one u ordered......and say as compensation u are going to keep the monitor.....errr i mean they wont even ask back ......i've read something similar happen before....so keep patience...and approach the rite people (others will contribute)

^ As my case might take a legal turn, I would rather not make any more comments on my particular situation, save to say that Dell has been far from being helpful or considerate.

I want to know if other people have had similar problems, and, if so, what action did they take.

lol.. man dell has the best ASS.

I ordered my LCD and they assured me 15 days, on the 16th day i didn't get it. i complained and i had a 22 inch standby monitor. moreover they gave me BH200 when my actual LCD arrived for the inconvenience caused.

saintsinner, at this i like to say "Sabr ka fal meetah hota hai", ur a lucky one may be vebk is listening to it :)

I had the same problem in the beginning of the year. I ordered a 3008WFP, and when I ordered I was told the ETA was one week.

Once the order was processed, the Dell site indicated that my monitor would be delivered in March (this was January). I first had a quick exchange of email with the seller (Dinesh Malhotra, on this board) and then wrote to Dell.

After another few days of dilly-dallying, the site updated again with the new delivery date of April. I basically asked Dell to cancel the order and refund my money.

By an Act of God, the monitor was delivered the next week to my house in Mumbai.

Unfortunately, I seem to have no such luck and it's imminent that this is going to go in a legal direction.

Thanks for the response guys. Others who have had similar experiences, please post your experience!

That's already been done, but to no avail. That's why I said that legal action is imminent.

Please people, post your experiences!

give them a hint that your company wanted to buy some 15-20 monitors but since they cannot deliver even one you will give the order to HP or another company. :ashamed:

Thanks, but those kinds of suggestions do not work with them either. They are pretty mind-numbingly fixed on their stand to not help me. But honestly, please leave aside my specific problem. I only want to know other peoples' experiences.

This has gone way past absurd. Now they are saying that I will get my monitor on the 29th of december!!! :@ :@

And the icing on the cake? They won't even commit to that date. So it could be delayed even after that!!

Has anyone actually received the new line of monitors (i.e. 2409, 2309, 2209) ??

my local dealer has the new 1909W series in stock. a friend of mine was in two minds about them. I prefer buying from brick and mortal dealers, or people.

hi, just replied to ur pm but forgot to mention that originally they told me that i would recieve both 2209's on the 10th of dec but was very suprised when they arrived on the 2nd

Just call them ask for a superior tell them your from TE which is a enthusiast community and they will really get disgraced over the net try pointing them to this thread.

Just try to get through a superior you can easily get a standby unit also which part of India are you in?

I'm in Delhi. I have spoken to a person who has identified himself as Head of Customer Care India. He has pretty much flatly refused to provide a standby monitor. Their unapologetic, unsympathetic and unhelpful attitude is what is going to lead to me going to court.

I understand and appreciate the suggestions that you guys are giving me. I have already tried them all. I have been uber patient with them, but to no avail.

Please please please guys tell me about your experiences. I know there are many out here who have had bad experiences with them.

Whats the name of that guy?
post it here, along with his dell id..

im thinking of giving dell a call for some issue of mine..wil try and ask abt yours too..Can do it only when i get time..

PM sent to you. Considering the legal nature of the problem, I 'd rather not post the IDs of the Dell people I have been dealing with.

This is really poor show by Dell, I went in for HP products & they have been serving me well. I wa never happy with this on the phone thing with Dell, one can't get hold of the executive from the collar, which becomes necessary many a times!
Sue them bigtime, you can also try calling some high up in Company, they usually do take swift action.

Dude there no point for legal action there are some people on TE which work for Dell maybe you can ask them.......
