^well, they didnt really show too much of the actual game, but what was shown wasnt too impressive. I'm beginning to hate those Square Enix guys now. They've pretty much screwed up Tomb Raider for me and now Hitman looks to be heading that way. I'm scared to think what must've happened to Deus Ex.

^And yet Hitman :Absolution won Gamespot's Game of E3 award. :s This is what I was afraid of. I am sure the game will be quite decent just like conviction, but its clearly not Hitman. :| The only silver lining of that video was Naomi.

New details released:

* Game is primarily set in Chicago

* Begins with Agent 47 on the run from the Chicago police

* IO’s Glacier 2 engine supposedly offer fantastic facial animations

* Use of cover mechanics.

* Bigger focus on staying hidden, rather than staying in disguise (sounds a lot like Splinter Cell: Conviction so far)

* Instinct mode highlights enemies and their patrols through walls, like Arkham Asylum’s detective mode.

* It’s powered by silent take downs

* No big scale map screen as in previous games.

* Mini map still highlights points of interest

* New threat meter is a grey circle that wavers in directions where enemies may spot 47 (again as in Conviction)

* There will be lots of improvised weapons players can use that are unique to each location

* Players can take hostages as human shields as in previous games

* This hostage taking prompted some complex AI patterns in the demo, with cops fanning out realistically to keep sight of the target.

* Levels will be divided into checkpoints for the first time.

* Some stages will be as large as in old Hitman games, others will be much smaller

* New structure allows for greater variety and complex set pieces, as well as story driven moments

* Having a disguise doesn’t mean you’ll be able to fool everybody

* Plot will be more personal to 47, with the Hitman knowing some of his targets.

* 47 and Diana will have new voice actors

* Hand to hand combat will be involved.

* Instinct mode increases disguise effectiveness. As cops in the demo questions 47′s movements while he’s disguised as a police man, he enters instinct and uses his police radio to fool them

* Each disguise has safe spots, like a box of doughnuts for police men.

* You’ll be completely safe in that disguise for as long as you want

* New engine offers on the fly editing for AI. AI can also affect group behavior now.

* Whatever you do, the AI will react to that dynamically

* The way crowds will be used will be different

Awesome only concern for me was the facial animation he looked dumbed with no expressions

Not impressed much except for the awesome music! Still no comments i hope the gameplay was only to show the variant mechanisms.

What? No comments on the graphics? It's a complete over-haul over the previous games. The lighting effects are fantastic. The gameplay seems to have taken a detour and went the "Splinter Cell: Conviction" way. The X-Ray vision reminds me of 'Detective mode' from Batman: AA, which has baffled me beyond reason.

There seems to be a hardcore stealth mode as well. For those who may feel that the normal gameplay might be an easy one. :P

I am blown away, its looking awesome. The graphics specially are looking really neat. The only thing I didn't like was the Batman detective mode feature. I mean, WTF? Atleast with fisher, he wears a high tech goggles but what does 47 have to make him see through walls? Just looked unrealistic. :S Q1 of 2012 is already shaping up to be more than what we can ask for, Mass Effect 3, Max Payne 3, Prototype 2 and now Hitman. :D

BTW, the graphics looked too nice to be from a console, can someone confirm if this footage was from the PC version?

There were no button prompts to indicate console or PC version being demonstrated, but either way, it looked stunning.

^^I remember you complaining about far cry 2.Tell me did you liked it?

The answer lies within.Since i dont know anything about the gameplay yet therefore i preferred to remain silent.
About visuals yes they are quite good infact 47 looks awesome!

But then what? to be precise i want to say sam fisher is sam fisher i like him that way i dont want him bald!
wtf was that noob vision for?
you get exposed to a helicopter and try to dodge bullets(uc2? or conviction?) 47 jumps from buildings to buildings ok accepted then wtf was that he falls from quite a good height and still intact(genetically strength enhanced too?or was that the effect of diana's kiss from the last game?)
I dont want to continue anymore but i am looking forward for this title rather than any other.
The gamelay is still not clear will we get silent assassin ranking or not that is also not clear. Therefore no comments for now.

AMAZING SOUND. LOL at guard. He was shouted for the light by someone, he says "Oh God what is his freaking problem?! Everyday he's been yelling at me Yelling-Yelling, just like my mom!". HAHA.

Graphics are fantastic, Lightening is amazing. I hope that's console footage cause then i'll be mesmerized by how good the PC version will look <3.

Yeah me too didn't like those couple of things. Also, I didn't like the way he was 'dodging' the bullets from the helicopter. I mean it was just like how he was hiding from the police guys. If there's a helicopter shooting bullets at me, I would run, ofcourse take cover in between, but I would be running.

Leaving all that aside, gameplay seems to be nice. Graphics and dialogues are good.

Some hilarious covers floating online:

Yeah and THAT is precisely the difference between you and Agent 47. :P

Not a huge fan of the franchise but iirc one of the main appeal of the games was to wait and observe the paths various characters take and figure out the timing by dying a couple of times in tough situations and then perfectly execute the mission. Having x-ray vision and pathfinding really dumbs it down (not to mention the obvious lack of realism). Isn't this what cheats are intended for? Regardless of whether the gameplay turns out to be good this is too much of a deviation from the premise.
