I need some help. I asked for a quote for the new nook, which is $139, and was given a quote of Rs.8815.
Their break up was
nook: Rs.6255
duty&taxes:~ Rs.1930
shipping:Rs.630.
I said the package weighed about 1lbs when they asked for the weight in the quote form.
Anyway, this seems quite high to me. It's almost as high as the ebay price.
Is this quote correct? Whats the price I should be paying for importing an ebook reader?

I purchased product made payment today but havent received any email from shopabroadonline regarding payment confirmation.Got sms from bank that CC has been charged. Do we get any email from shopabroadonline regarding payment successful or that order has been placed?

Call them up and ask. Or if they have given you a unique package id then you can track the details on their site. They will only call or mail you when the item reaches bombay. So track the package with the number they provided else call and ask for it.
Ordered a Nexus S from eBay through ICC PPO. Total charges Rs 724, don't know the exact splitup etc. After it reached their Mumbai office they sent a mail asking me to pay the amount, made the payment and was shipped by BlueDart today itself. Should be delivered by Monday.
When compared to Aramex S&S, ICC doesn't seem to be very transparent. In case of Aramex you are notified as soon as the package reaches them and can be checked on their site. Even in case of customs duty, they include the receipt and all details. Whereas in case of ICC its not so transparent but pricing seems to be somewhat similar.
