First of all, thanks for jotting this down for us. Though I have a couple of questions:

1. By filling the form we are giving all the CC details to ICC world. In practicality the CCV number. Is this safe. Since the order is a once type use. Also we do expose our CCV number to vendors when they swipe it. Any other way it can be misused.

2. When this PDF mechanism is used. What other charges are levied on the buyer. Usually is it ONLY the shipping..? Which would be volumetric weight.

3. After how long do they tell you that the authorization form has been honored and the debit went through.

4. How many of these type of purchases you have done.

5. An minimal $$$ amount cut-off limit.

Reason I am asking these questions, cause it opens up most of the US retail outlets for shopping, but at the same time exposes our CC details.

as far as i know the icc is a big company they have offices all over india. the guy whom i talk with ( mr.sanjay ghosal) is a good person and very professional. guys u can call customer care and ask their higher authorities about the duty free matter

I've been using ICC World for quite sometime and never knew about the Duty Free part. Thank you Kuduku for the info. I requested for duty free quote yesterday as per kuduku's post but yet to receive it.

1. This is my primary concern as well. Will it be possible to give a Virtual Credit Card from HDFC for this purpose? Or will they be able to charge only a physical card?

2. I guess they would charge the full cost of item + shipping to India in USD itself so the exchange rate will be much higher too. ( Bank surcharge etc )

it effects for only 75 INR on $100 as per my calculations and deductions

finally who cares seagate FAT+ in India 5800 INR cheapest when i bought

i got through them for 3700 -- $62+$15

Just registered myself & applied for the US PPO address which was instantly provided..

Its for NY so NY tax would be applicable for every purchase...

Aramex best in only shipping where duty has to be paid

With arames luck count I got a $100 watch without duty but on $18 hair straighter had to pay 550 INR

they had told me that it affects only duty free items as declaration has to be given that it has been purchased by Mr xyz and not ICC

they show your invoice and payment details to customs

So I guess for Duty free the sender's address should be different (Not ICC's). Now they are also offering PPO Address Free of charge in your name & maybe they can send it to India as duty free to someones name in your family but to your address from your PPO in US... Need to confirm this tomorrow. I sent for a quote... lets see how it goes..

didnt post all this earlier as thought everybody would be aware and using the duty free option
only issue is the CC details
have VCC that should solve that also
their CC on tele is also good
when you get a mail from them about anything
just reply to it with product link and weight and ask for quote
they will reply with a quote for that
no need to fill the form

the quotes i receive from icc are much less compared what the member gives on the other forum E. guys u should get quotes from other sources also and compare and then buy. mostly i find icc to be much cheaper.

duty free is for gifts right .....

so give any address in CC authorization pdf and it will reach

gifts can be easily made to both sexes

they are cheap

thats a different matter they might increase prices

seeing so much interest

so dont order .. they will call you and ask you why not ordering

is the quote not good , services not good ?

say its expensive and haggle

after all we are indians ....

dont pay more than $15 for shipping on 500 gms

if the their warehouse was in other place other than new york that would have been better.. new york has $10 sales tax . Best part is when there is some golden box deals going on or black friday deals we wont miss the deals . it is really helpful for those people who dont have credit cards

Could you elaborate on that plz?I've not bought anything off US sites coz INdian credit cards are not accepted.
