I think this could be good for those who want a managed service, as long as it is fairly priced (below Rs. 250).
They have mentioned their price is Rs. 199/month for the first 3 months, but what about after?

For those who can self-host and have a Jio sim, you can look into these: https://github.com/JioTV-Go/jiotv_go / https://github.com/JioTV-Go/jiotv_go_app

As for players, TiviMate is better for TVs, while iMPlayer is good for phones and those who like to record / playback stuff.
No need to purchase premium for both unless required.
This Jiotv go thing. The 2 URLs posted are both to be used? Seems like first one is to setup server and 2nd is the client app to consume the server?
Am I right?

If so, can I make the server on my raspberry pi and then use it's Playlist URL using url of my Rpi4 in the app to access?

I have it installed dockerized on a separate minipc at my home which then streams it to all my devices.

I don't know what two URLs you're talking about?
Can you paste them here?

If I were to guess, I think the ones you're talking about would be the playlist URL and the other for the EPG.
If so, then the playlist one is mandatory, while EPG is optional.
Playlist url gives you the channel data and the EPG gives you the program guides.

I don't have docker installed on my Rpi4 (but can install, would still want to avoid). The 2 URLs are in the post I quoted. Both are github URLs which I suggest you check as it seems the 2nd URL of "Jiotv go APP" seems to be mentioning that it is the only thing you need and nothing else. But I am not sure, yet to try.

Btw, in Hindi, I had read that Jio had removed sony channels and star gold etc weren't even there before. So what exactly do we have now have in terms of Hindi and english movie channels?

Or is it same as what I would see if I logged into jio tv app on my phone using my jio number?

There were a few questions on which players. I think Kodi and self hosted Emby/JellyFin/Plex can also stream IPTV.
With IPL just around the corner, I have extended the free trial period to 24 hours based on valuable feedback from TE members
If you're reading this, do try out the service and consider subscribing if you find it beneficial!
Sending you a DM.

Ah right my bad. It was replying half asleep at 3AM lol.

So the two URLs I posted above are of the same app.
URL 1 is the official app and the way to go if you're using Docker or want to host and run it on Windows etc.
URL 2 is community made (but still endorsed) and is an easier way to host and run it on Android devices (like firesticks).

I use URL 1 and Docker to host it. Then I use an IPTV on my other devices to watch it.
On the machine where it is hosted, I can also use the browser to watch.
I find this method easier (personal choice) and more flexible.

As for the channels, you'll see whatever channels you see on the JioTV app.
I just checked and Sony channels are present, but Star is not.

Also, see this for getting started (this is the website for Link 1): Get Started

Thanks for confirming. It seems the URL 2 is where I install it on firestick and the server runs on firestick itself and I also browse live tv on firestick only. If my usage is just one tv, may be I should go with this approach.

I am running the binary in Linux server and trying to access the URL through the browser. But it looks like there is no option to bind it to an IP other than localhost/127.0.0.1

Duplicate post due to site issue. Can't find delete option
idk I use the dockerized version and I can map to any interface I want there.

Have you tried opening its port on your firewall and then checking if it connects?
Watching via the browser only works on the system that the server is running on.
For watching on other clients, you need an IPTV app and the relevant playlist links as listed on the website: Link
