After a long time i finally got an hour to make enqueries for buying an inverter.
i was thinking of buying a 800VA su-kam inverter and got these quotes from two shops.

Shop1:
Su-kam 800VA inverter - 7350/-
180Amp generic battery = 9000/-
total: with discount (inc wiring) 16000/-
+2000 if going for exide battery.

UTL inverter 800va - 6500/-
rest same. total: with discount (inc wiring) 15000/-
+2000 if going for exide battery.

Shop 2:
Su-Kam 600Va - 5900/-
Tata green battery 135Amp - 10000/-
total: with discount (inc wiring) = 14810.

su-kam 600va - 5900/-
exide 150amp battery - 11500/-
total: with discount (inc wiring) - 15615/-

in all cases the batteries have 18months guarantee (will be replaced if anything goes wrong)
also first shop keeper answered all my questions, whereas second one said that he was there only to sell stuff and didn't know any technical details.

me thinks i should go for the 800va one with generic battery. what do u guys say?

I had a similar question guys:

Which battery to go for... I have many shops selling me su-kam but no one gave a good explanation for the battery.. finally that what it boils down to. Please let me know the review for same.

Any recommended dealer for battery in Pune/Mumbai?

i got a local guy to fix up a 800 va + some more (it is to hold 2 computers atleast for 10 mins ) and then a 160 ah amco battery ..total for 15k...

I have AMCO batteries which came with APC inverter....
Its been one year n 1 set of AMCO batteries ve gone kaput ...
The warranty on batteries is 2years from APC so got it replaced but again AMCO ...
These batteries are not tubular or not no maintaince batteries ...they release fumes which are harmful for health...

My advice : go for Exide batteries in the first go with no maintaince batteries ( no fumes )

I am not very sure of Battery but i purchased the Luminous 600VA inverter for 3750/- if i am not wrong. Though i had a choice to choose between Microtek, Su-kam, Luminous and one more brand (might be APC)...

Then how come su-kam is costing 5900/- to you ??

P.S. No its not fake it came with 1 year on-site warranty card too.

^^ when did u buy it?

i had enquired abt 800va apc inverter a yr back and it cost just 13k including battery. i think prices of batteries have increased a lot now, hence they r costly and since it is summer season and power cuts are frequent its the inverter season dude - so more costly price.

IMHO, battery is more important than inverter (quality wise)

Currently using Amaron,no problems till now (2 years)

which model no? if i can trouble u again :ashamed:

Nothing to get troubled mate. Unfortunately, i do not remeber the model no. perfectely, but it was one with silver casing and fully automatic one. May be i can update you the model no. by eve once i'll reach home.

PS. - just remembered it was the "sinewave" one

Got the model read on-phone from old aged one in the factory currently

"UPS LB Long Back-up UPS" - Written on front panel.

This UPS is installed in our factory, where in nights only security guard stays who was able to read the above said only. It might be helpful for you.
