atleast thats with warranty and other carriers would be offering it too .

also USA price is 649 + taxes with the current dollar rate that wont be any less then 36-37k + customs
 
^You don't seem to get the pricing part. 650USD is for the unlocked iPhone 4S free of any contracts. And around 200USD with the contract. If the Indian pricing was 20~25k with the contract, it would have made some sense. But not certainly this one.

Might as well buy an unlocked phone from HK or Sgp.

It will definitely be available as factory unlocked just like iphone 4 and the price wont be 40k for 16GB version.

i mean it is factory unlocked at around 38k , it is not carrier locked . its a good price considering the High USD

PS - I do understand that the 650$ + sales Tax is an unlocked and contract free price
 
Aircel launching the iPhone 4S in India on Nov 25th. Pre-booking for iPhone 4S starts on Nov 18th according to Aircel. even Airtel also join the party.

a fast launch compared to other iphone launch in india..

ip4 price will drop...
 
This is a clear indication by Appple that they will be launching a new iPhone in the coming year first quarter.
 
Iphone 4 is already Out of stock since last 30 days,there was a clear indication that Iphone 4s is going to be Out soon..

A friend of mine who is working with apple,says training for Iphone 4s has already started from past 15 days,,

36500 is the rough Price for Iphone 4s 16gb Factory Unlocked..

Secondly Iphone 4 with 8gb with a tag Price of 22 to 25 might also be out there,with people with lower Budgets..

The pricing is atleast better than what people selling before the launch are quoting! For Gods sake, I came across a guy quoting 85k for the 4s, probably was giving a macbook free :P
 
First iPhone 4 in Bangalore sold for a whooping 98k:)...There are ppl who have the money and are willing to throw away cash to show off. So the same goes for iPhone 4s.

In australia the 4S 16 gb comes for 41.5k and 64Gb comes for 51.5k:(. I just dumped my iphone 4 on Friday and got a 32GB 4S:)
 
looking carefully at the way Apple are playing the game.. anything above 33-35k for the iPhone 4S will be a waste in my opinion.

Reasons:

1) the next iphone will be a MAJOR revision -- thats a forgone conclusion. Given that apple have taken note of the disappointment from fans across the world.. the 4S was really just a v2 of the original 4. Besides, by mid 2012, the competition will increasingly tout LTE/NFC etc across the range & they have to not just play catch up.. they've got to raise the bar. Besides Apple are widely expected to release the new iphone earlier than they did this year & i think April-June is what they'd look at. So the current 4S really has a limited time to live & is all about maximizing the product lifecycle at minimum cost for Apple.

2) the current iphone 4 is not at all that bad so as to command a huge price revision/gap to the 4S.. the incremental features dont really make the 4S a must have. That's precisely why the 4S is a real waste if it's priced at a huge gap up to the original 4

3) the rising Android brigade is fast bringing newer bad ass handsets to the market at a rate that's fast pushing the limits of current mobile tech boundaries. Given that Samsung/LG/Motorola etc have multiple models across the range and have a faster development cycle that's not a "one launch" product a year funda.. it means that really speaking, the 4S will not rule the roost for long nor present any significant value for money attraction over even 1 full year.

Bottom line. In less than 5-6 months from now.. you're gonna get a whole lot of more stuff for your money at possibly lower price or equal to around 35k than you'd pay 36-38k now for the 4S
 
Getting from US or SG might be cheap but there would be no warranty if there is any issue with the phone. A friend of mine got it from SG for cheap now the phone has home button issue even though the phone is under warranty he cant do much.

I wouldn mind paying 35+ for iphone provided it has warranty in India and its Factory Unlocked
