Cheap Second Hand iPhones Beware
If you buy open box iPhones which are from regions other than India, those phones sometimes can lock themselves up. What happens is used iPhones from abroad somehow end up here in the hands of the dealer through various means (usually stolen cases), the owners of those iPhones claim insurance and get their new iPhone.
The insurance company marks these phones as lost, which apple will add to their blacklisted phones list.
Once the phone is blacklisted, it won't immediately lock the device, what will happen is, whenever there is an iOS update, and phone gets rebooted, your phone will be locked at the welcome screen. It's the updates that bring information with them that whether the phone should be locked or not.
Always check the origin of the iPhone before buying. Make sure you get the original bill with it where full payment has been done.
Battery Health Value
The battery health percentage can be manipulated using third party tools, and there is no way to tell if it's the original health or not.
There are batteries which will always report 100% battery health.
Don't buy phones where there is already a battery error message "Unable to verify genuine apple battery", if you have to buy, then buy it at a very low price, lower than what the cashify usually sells it for. Try to find iPhone which has the original battery with it, cause this message can be removed if we remove the BMS from original battery and place it on any third party battery.
Also it is very helpful if you want to re-sell the phone again, just pop in the original battery so the phone appears genuine.
Water Damage
Your iPhone can be declared water damaged even when it never came into contact with water. Just the high humidity alone can cause this. Apple will simply look into the phone and check the small water detection indicator stickers, which change their color when they come in contact with water.
Don't take your phones with you into the bathrooms specially when taking a bath.
Sudden change in temperature from hot to cold can cause condensation inside the phone, which can declare your phone water damaged and warranty will be void.
Apple shows this on their tech specs for the phones.
Also these phones are not waterproof at all, they are water resistant, so don't do under water recordings.
Cables
Avoid using third-party cables, even though they work fine, but due to strict tolerances of the original cable, which is hard to maintain by the third-party manufactures, the pins in the charging port of the phone gets bent. Recent iPhone 15 series with USB-C has been spotted with these damages, which voided the warranty of the phone.
Cameras
As with every generation the phones are getting delicate, this is for the moto vloggers and those who mount their phones on to bikes and inside cars, the vibrations and shocks can damage the optical image stabilizer in your camera. Apple has a app note about this

Fast Charging
Avoid fast charging if possible, do it occasionally when you really need it , sadly with iPhone 15 series it's harder to avoid, because the lowest wattage USB-C type charger that apple makes is 20watts. If we use the normal 5watt charger, then apple doesn't make official USB-A to USB-C cable. We have to use the cable by belkin.
The problem with it is not the battery life, it's the heat that it generates which is perfectly fine for the battery, but no so much for the surrounding parts, motherboard, delicate OLED screen etc. Heat is the killer of electronics.
Dust
No matter how much you try, dust will accumulate in the earphone, speaker and microphone grill, over a long period of use, it's unavoidable, but accumulation can be delayed, by avoiding using your phone in highly dusty environment.
Some dust can be removed by using a clay type substance and picking the dust with it, but if it's too much then you have to open the phone and clean the grill form the inside.

- Turn off background app refresh for all apps, if you have any problem with some app, only then allow background refresh for that specific app only.
- If you don't have any iCloud storage plan, then just turn off Photos sync, also turn off iCloud Backup, because the default 5GB will get full in no time, so no point having the sync on.
- Turn off all the unnecessary app syncing.
- The right way to charge,
- Stop with the 80-20% charging, go with one step beyond, regardless of what battery backup you are getting charge your device daily at least once, figure out how much battery you use in a typical day, for example I get 20% drop in battery at the end of the day on iPhone 15 plus, so I charge my phone till 60% and let it drop to 40%, next day again charge till 60%, in theory I am only using 20% of the battery daily and filling it up, the important part is that 20% spread is in the center point of the battery in terms of percentage value.
- Using this data I saw 10 cycles of charge in a month. The 15 series battery is rated for 1000 charge cycles, so theoretically at this rate battery will last for 8 years, by last I mean it will have 80% of the original capacity.
- But with time my phone will not be able to get throughout the day with only 20% drop, it may be 30%, so at the point, increasing your charging range, 35% to 65%, maintaining one charge per day.
- So with time your charging time will gradually increase, to give you the same backup every single day, I hope it makes sense.
