Laptops Is this the right time to buy the Air ?

hey guys...
well... i got my results yesterday... n m happy to announce that me passed with flying colours... :P

neways... i'll be leavin for my MBA next year... i wanted to buy a lappy... i was eyeing for the macbook air... coz its light n sweet... (u can call me apple fanboy :ohyeah: :ohyeah: ) after owning iPod n iPhone for sometime, i've started trusting the reliability of apple..

though i wanted to know whether is this the right time to buy one... i mean are there ne upgrades coming for it (processor n all).. i guess it might cost me @ 80k from US...
any inputs will be welcomed... as long as there is no flaming :P

dude.. the air is a wonderful choice.. am using it and its uber cool! ;)

anywaz about buying rite now.. i think it would be going under the knife soon.. meanin should c some update..maybe jus the processor.. so if your not in a hurry.. wait for a while an then buy the latest model!
 
can anyone tell when are the newer macbooks coming? i recon the date to be @ 7th sept... :ashamed:
 
Air is in it's own category of eye catchers. No doubt it's wonderful thing.

If slow performance of the machine might turn out to be a problem, you might want to try out the macbook pro. It's far more robust, but no doubt again air is wonderful and a different choice. Good for all not so heavy tasks! :D
 
Are you reaaally ready to live with 1 USB port, no wired LAN ports and what many would say a fairly slow system after paying that much? IMO, Macbook Pro if at all you want an Apple laptop but yes...look for any new updates/release :tongue:
 
try to get Macbook Pro....if u want to flaunt 7 also do some jobs....aka Presentation....If u just want to flaunt get Air..

Also where are you gonna do MBA....bcause u may get some student deals in Singapore ....Some Bschools in India & Dubai

Also Air at 80k Is not worth the insides[Hardware]...personal opinion of mine...
 
actually.. i was fed up of using windows.. n wanted to try OSX.. hence i thought of gettin one... :ashamed:
 
New Macs coming. To be announced most likely on Sept 9th or Sept 17th or latest will be early October.

I'd suggest you wait for them, cause the new MBs and MBPs are all going to be styled like the Air with aluminium casings, rounded edges and illuminated keypads.

Besides the Air might see a 45nm upgrade also pretty soon. So its definitely not the right time to buy a Macbook :)
 
I think even MBA should be witnessing a price cut soon, other cos are coming up with better features mini laptops! MBA is priced a bit too high IMO.

Do you KNOW kauzy? Read up on some of his other posts. He can afford to throw it away if he doesnt like it ! :rofl:

budy the upgrades on the macs would be coming in october (as is apples tradition of launching them after students have made their back to school purchases. hehe) anyways it obviously wasnt meant to happen right now as the current event was apple rock or something which obviously signifies its related to ipods..

anyways and im sure even the mbair should get either upgrades (hopefully in hdd) or price cuts!
