Issue in my BSNL Broadbnd usage !!!!!!

Hey,
I am using BSNL Home 500C plan for which i have 2.5gb free usage per month. But while checking the usage for the month of december i have found 1 GB usage in Day time , the time at which i was not present in Home itself...

Really Shocking to find 1 gb usage in my connection....
I contacted BSNL ,:S they r telling that they cannot provide the log for the usage in the connection..

Wat can i do now ?

Fight shout get a police complaint they will have to do something about it. Thats what 1 of ,y friends did when he was overbilled by some 2-3k.
 
Before doing all that, reconfirm if no other member at your house has used the net and whether all background updates and downloads have been disabled.
 
maybe someone bridged your connection and used it.. I used to do Hack BSNL IDz about year back... but now as my port is blinded, I can't do it @ all...
 
i asked regarding these hacking to them , they said that there isnt any chance as the connection can be used with the modem and the telephone line.... Cant explain about hacking to them....

I need to find out the files created and modified at that particular point of time in my comp... Is there a way to find it out ? As the files mite have been modified after that point of time in my comp.....

Lol. reminds me of the 8k bill i got from bsnl due to the same reason..

in a matter of few days i noticed,1gb added everyday to my records when the pc was turned off and i was in college! totalled upto bout 8gb in excess when i reported it...

It was just added to the records!

What I did:

Took screenshots of my records,clearly highlighting the anonymous usage and filed a proper complaint & Spoke to the concerned in-charge...

They finally reduced it to bout 800bucks..

Just surrendered my connection !!!

Good riddance to crappy SARKARI service... :@

I've been experiencing the good times with Airtel since then!

I was thinkin till now , if i had some mistake on my part .... But its clear from ur post that the issue is with the Bsnl BB.... So i guess i will do the same thing as u did n try to reduce my bill... Thanks a lot of the info....
Can i know who s the Concerned incharge regarding this complaint ??

I hope your certain that you didn't leave your PC on or whether it was used by someone at home?

I think it was the divisional manager...

Told him about it and gave him a formal letter explaining the issue(with screenshots*) and requesting immediate termination of my connection !

Each area has a telephone exchange office,go and approach the manager if bsnl customer care(:rofl: ) ppl aren't helpful !

might b u started ur dwnload at 2 without reconnecting ur cnnection n as it was connected before the free hours bsnl billed it in chargebale hours....
 
ya.... i chesked it even today morning but it shows the same usage....

Should we reconnect every time in the night when we have free download from 2 AM to 8 AM . I have never done so. My connection is generelly on and as i have scheduled in utorrent at 3 AM ( As a safety measure so that there is no time mismatch ) and the at 8 it stops automatically...

How come it says usage as 1GB from 8 PM to 10.30 PM when i was not in home itself. Am very sure that there was no download in the system at that point of time.

Night or did you mean AM?
 
ohh boy.......... u MUST disconnect at 2am and 8 am if u are downloading in free hrs..... I will post proofs in few days ...

One of my friend's friend whose bill i have personally seen was amount 50k for one month and one of the point/ mistake he did was not disconnecting as i said earlier. He could not prove that he did not download anything before 2am and after 8am ever though he had scheduled it in utorrent. Bsnl monitors only complete sessions so there is no alternative to following practice as i said to be on the safer side. If u can, post ur usage screenies here with data about ur identity removed..
 
yaah buddy i think u did a mistake.........u should reconnect when ur free hours starts.....dats wat i do....n i have neva xperienced sch data usage issue yet....y to take risks....u shoud reconnect everytime
 
SO WAT IF HE DIDN'T RECONNECTED AT 2 AM DUDE YOU SHOULD GO IN CONSUMER COURT AS bsnL never warn there customers that BSNL still in stone age and they should have told you about this bug

dude first go to your nearest exchange and try convincing them if they wont help you just go to consumer court
