who told you that a karizma is shitty.
I am proud to own one.
Next time dont call a zma shitty i just hate when someone calls a beauty like zma shitty.

Its just a matter of taste , some like cruisers some like sports bikes.

[Peace]

Nice bike there Nikhil , congrats on ur new bike purchase.
And that pic is gr8.

Its just that people feel it is grossly underpowered,BHp wise re.
Thats all

Tracerbullet did have a helmet on when he was on his bike yest when i met him.
And, he did somehow look good on the bike...a bit underweight for it:P But looked good:ohyeah:

Besides, when on a bike like that, who cares what others think on how u look on it??
I think your personal opinion on this regard is whats more important:D

Hey man... Congrats! I always wanted one... but then RX-100 was better to wheelies :D. Anyways, Be safe and responsible on road and always wear Protactive Head-Gear.

I do wear a helmet and not just because of the law. Riding in Mumbai for a good hour can leave you with a black face. Not to mention how often dust gets in your eye.

Yep Deejay I'll definitely get the bike for the meet. And of course you can ride it - but you'll have to start it first! haha just kidding.

Trust me, that condition isn't easy.

I'd suggest deejay to start practising by hiring a bike to avoid embaressment in front of TE members :bleh:

Edit : Nikhil, you have an Electra na ?? Then it'll be just a button click...

Ahem......

here is my statement about this, flame me if you want....

A well tuned royal enfield (with the old iron engine, not the new aluminium one) is the easiest and most effortless bike to start in this country if you know how.

this comes from over two years of riding an enfield 500 bullet.
I have demoed this to quite a few of my firends and will happily demo this to any one who can come to bangalore. anything to dispel this myth that starting a bullet is difficult. and this is the 500 not the 350!!!

Standard starting : 1/2 kick on warm engine, 1 kick cold engine.

Obviously, that's what I was getting at. You have to know how! Besides, my bike has the new AVL engine.

@Anish: There's no electric start, my bike's a Machismo.

The new AVL engine is a little harder to start, probably becuase idon't know how!!;) ;)

Machismo is a damn nice bike and the five speed gearbox is really good.

People who have only ridden plastic bikes like most of my friends here, will never know what it is to ride a real bike, the way they used to make them from more than 50 years back.
:ohyeah: :ohyeah:

1928 500cc my(our) bikes great grandpa.

I got the chance to ride a friend's Thunderbird today.....
And right now, all I feel is insanely jealous :(
Jealous of TracerBullet and my friend! :ashamed:

Do you buy 5 yr old hardware?? NO!!! :P ... so why do you accept a 50 yr old bike ?? :P

lol... just kidding man..... I am the first to concede that each has his own taste :D So, have fun with Enfields man. Do what you LIKE.

vintage classics thats y people buy them all over the world.....in india people buy them cauz its an enfield (overpirced high matainace machines) but it sure is fun......and expensive......but then u its gonna give u an attitude ull love....all bikes do :D

im an enfield fan too and i agree with elendil that it is the best indian bike out there. i love the 550 cc enfields of the 80s

omg! i just rented an electra and took it to mahabs! brilliant! ofcourse, i almost lost the battery cover, and ran out of petrol on the way back, but whats a bullet without pieces falling off of it and emptying your wallet for food!?

nope. dont even have a lisence!:ashamed: My parents feel bikes are a strict no-no. Ended up renting it through a friend.

THe rental is 300 bucks for 24 hours and theres a 1000 buck security deposit. YOu need 2 references (parents if youre still in coll, otherwise earning members in society) he can call up and confirm your address and road sense. YOu also have to cover the petrol yourself.

Considering the condition of the bike, it was a bargain!

Hi deejay, have u ever seen this show on discovery travel and living called american chopper, its an amazing show. Dont know how many ppl from te watch it though, here is some description of the show
"American Chopper profiles the lives of New York natives Paul Teutul Sr. and son Paul Jr. of Orange County Choppers (OCC), creators of the world's most outrageous custom motorcycles."

These bikes are driven by guys having a badboy kind of attitude :P, and if youve seen sanjay dutt on his musafir bike....he seems to have the perfect build and attitude that one should have to ride these bikes. So for people like me any light bike would do fine, but royal enfield would not really suit a person like me.

Have a look at these images !

^^One of these is a cartoon, while the other is a movie advertisement. Both cartoons and ads exaggerate reality. So you can't really use any of these as a reference.

I don't need to live up to any preconceived notions on how badass bikers ought to look like. I'm happy with my bike and that's it really. Besides, to be frank, Sanjay Dutt's wearing the wrong shades for a big bike. Nothing matches a muscle bike better than a pair of aviators :P
