Hi friends,
I got my pc 15 days back.
Its like this: PD 2.8, ASUS 945, 1GB DDR2 533 FSB, 250GB SATA,

For the past 15 days I am looking this website for suggestion for pc speakers.
My budget is under 10k, can extend it more for reasonably more quality output.

I am looking for higher RMS value with good sound even at higher volumes.
How is Logitech Z 5300?????

Is On-board sound card sufficient?????
Its Realtec HD Audio with 8 channels.
If no?? Which one I should go for??

I want a better speaker system within specified budget, it may be 2.0, 2.1, 5.1 or higher.

I will generally use it for movies and music with less for gaming.

My own prefference is a nice 5.1

But your suggestion is required....

Please help me out on this.

the z5300 is a good 5.1 alternative... but its still a compromise... for the best sound, i would recommend the altec lansing MX 5021 and a good soundcard. alternatively, you could skip the soundcard and a much better stereo pair :)

another linky :)

The 5.1 sets like Z5300 are good for games and movies. for music, a high end stereo set like mx5021 would be better. if watch movies as much as or more than you listen to music, then get a 5.1 set. As for sound card, the Realtek ALC is fairly good considering that it comes integrated on the mobo and does not cost you a thing. But if you prefer something better, then based on your budget, you can go for a Creative SB Live 24Bit or the Audigy Value series. should set you back by 2~3k.

as you said its still a compromise??? I could not understand this. can you
explain it. It will cost me around 11k and still compomise?? please explain.
I am getting 280w RMS with this. Altec MX5021 is 2.1 I think!!

any other speaker system????

Also if a VFM sound card can be suggested

Having read your original post carefully, I believe YOU will be satisfied with the logitech z5300. My suggestion is that you go with the onboard sound for now. You can decide about whether to go for a soundcard after installing the Z5300.

Output watts doesn't equate to good performance :p. 11k is just a drop in the ocean in the world of speakers ;).

Yes Mr. Chaos I know 11k is just nothing but my budget is this much only.
If you can suggest me some good one around this.
How do you say about Z 5500??
OR suggest me something batter.
I can spend 2-3k more also.

First things first... are you looking for music quality or power/surround? My recommendation would be different in each case.

Well I like Big bass at high volumes. Thats it.

Can you tell me individually if I'll go for music which one I should go for.
OR If I'm going for surround which one will be best within my budget.

Also please explain how power differs from music quality.
Is there no one option in which I can get power and music quality both with 11k or little more.

How is Z 5300???? I have seen some reviews on websites. some of them have
quoted it good and few not good also.

My priority will be good quality bass at loud volumes.

Now at least you should suggest me something.:)

in that case your flavour would be something with pair of stereo floorstanders and/or a 10/12 inch sub

most sub/ sat systems i've heard have incredible bass at low volumes.. .. heck, even i cant come up with that much bass from my speakers at low volumes :( ... but when you pump up the bass or volume , BWAHAHAHAHA my setup Pwns!

I'd recommend you go the floorstanders + stereo amp route..cos you can add a sub or maybe surrounds as you feel the need there are VFM indian alternatives from norge and pulz. I dont know about how the MX5021 handles high volumes... finding out some time this week :D

Why no body is putting his comments for Logitech Z 5300???

I have asked for it twice or thrice. How is this???

How about wharfie diamond?? Any good one from them in my budget range.

AFAIK , *any* PC speaker setup doesnt cut mustard at high vols.. the Z5300 is best for gaming.. where surround and positional audio is most important, bass, though important takes second place.i dont think i would recommend the z5300 for music , nor will anyone who has owned/listened to good fullrange speakers. I think there are people who own z5300s somewhere in this forum. if you are absolutely sold on the z5300's , fine ask them how it is, but as long as
I want a better speaker system within specified budget, it may be 2.0, 2.1, 5.1 or higher.

is your requirement , the z5300 is not the answer. Surround is mostly a gimmick, and a very expensive one dont fall for it unless you absolutely know what you are doing. you will not be watching DTS/AC3 movies 24x7. but you will be listening to music pretty much a lot. as long as you are throwing away a fair amount of dough, might as well get the full worth out of it.

dude check out those sites and see if you have a dealer in your city and maybe their prices. Btw, wait for chaos's opinion too :D

Eh if all you want is a lot of bass, get the z5300... you won't be disappointed. However its no way gonna sound anywhere close to what the audio was intended to be heard when it was recorded. Else as greenhorn said, look for cheap floorstanders with 12" drivers and a cheap amp (both unbranded).

^^LOL rio.... there's a lot of dhick chick dance tracks that ppl wanna hear i guess :p. These things are not for us :D.

Ok then keeping music quality only as the priority, what willl be your choice with in specified budget???
music quality is always first priority but along with this if I can get a little bit bass also.
Please help me out, I am really very confused.

I am giving you the details of some systems along with their price which I am getting in CTC, Hyderabad.

1. Altec MX5021 - 7.3k - 90w
2. Altec FX6021 - 9.0k - 80w
3. Altec ATP3 - 2.5k - 27w
4. Altec CS21E - 6.1k - 110w
5. Logitech Z5300 - 11.0k - 280w
6. Altec GT5051K - 8.2k - 80w
7. Creative T6060 - 5.0k - 70w
8. Logitech X530 - 5.5k - 70w

Are this prices correct?? Why FX6021 is costlier than MX5021 and why CS21E
is very cheap comparatively.

Now please suggest me good one keeping quality as priority and with some bass also. Also if you can give me your cell no. so that I can get my doubts cleared easily. Thanks

Altec CS21E - 6.1k - 110w
this will be a grt option if u want bass, imho much better than z5300
i have their earlier version, the 621, and the bass is MUCH better than the z5300...very loud spks, with no distortion
