So here's my issue.
I just bought Rite's (TE member) MSI P55-GD65 and Intel i7 860 motherboard and CPU combo. Now, I am trying to boot the system, however, its not booting. I have not yet assembled it into a cabinet. I have kept this assembly on a non-conducting surface. I am using Corsair DDR3 1066 Value RAM's (2 x 2GB) and a Tagan 600-UG37 power supply all bought from Rahul at ItWares. Here's what happens.
I turn on the power and the keyboard light flashes. The graphic card fan and the CPU fan turn on. The OC Genie + and - buttons and the on board power button glow and only the LED 6 of the six phase LED's glow. The remaining five LED's remain unlit. The system turns on for maybe 2 seconds and then powers down and then turns on again and powers down going in to a cycle. I have to finally pull off the power plug to stop this. During all of this there are no beeps.
Troubleshooting steps taken so far:
1. Removed video card and memory modules and then booted. Same issue.
2. Checked and reinserted power connections. Same issue.
3, Checked with only one memory module in DIMM 1 slot. Same issue.
Things remaining to be checked.
1. Reseat the processor.
2. Check the 8-pin CPU supply and try either that or the 4-pin CPU supply.
Other than this, the only option is to RMA the board. But I am unsure what is causing this. So, it could be the CPU or the MB, but I have no way to check this as I do not have another 1156-pin board or CPU to check. So, I request fellow TE members to try and help me out on this, preferably members in Mumbai. If you can possibly volunteer to check my CPU on your mobo, and check your CPU on my mobo, it will be of great help to me. I know that I may be asking for too much, but I really don't know how to proceed forward.
Please help.
