Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries plans to offer high-speed data services on attractively priced tablets by early next year and scale it up to a countrywide network by the middle of 2012.

The company, which made a comeback to telecom last year, plans to offer fourth-generation or 4G-enabled data cards that can be plugged into computers and laptops, apart from providing tablets at a game-changing price of 3,000 or even lower to hook customers, two executives familiar with the development said.

It may very well be true. AFAIK only RIL (not Rcom :P) has a 4G license in India as of now.

As for tablets at 3k, can't say anything about that. :P

once mukesh ambani jumps on this bandwagon,I am sure 3G prices will crash just like reliance mobile revolutionized indian mobility.

Reliance has no end user infrastructure but huge bandwidth therefore it may be possible if they don't get greedy...

end user infrastructure is just 4G dongles and tablets,which they already have ready.

now remaining is towers,towers can be shared with rcom and its already in media that two groups are in discussion for same.

Btw this brings a question about reliance - how is the reliance 3g tab ? its available for 13k

All are talking about only speed.

50mbps,100mbps,1000mbps bla bla bla.

No one want to talk about FUP,DATA limit or the price of bandwidth....:@

What's the use of speed 100mbps to us if we have to pay Rs.100/- for 100kB DATA.....

yea also for wired connections the unlimited terminology is misleading.

Why not... Everybody was hopeful that 3G would improve the internet scene.. Look where we are standing right now.. ISP's are greedy & they will never offer it at an affordable price unless forced to & our incumbent TRAI + govt. would never do it... PERIOD...

mukesh ambani can easily change the scene if he wants to . He already did it with CDMA , reliance network was top - notch better than airtel when it was under him .
