Its an NF4 Ultra , although most ppl know abt it.
I will post the pics once i get my mobo in my hands.

- BIG 6600 Plain 256MB 350/550 [GPU can be taken to 450Mhz - CHIP Mag]
- Benq DW1640 DVD Writer [Black]
- Powersafe 400W 24Pin PSU
[Wanted a 24Pin PSU only so getting this , also Darky has worked with powersafe 400W on his rig and he said it wud work fine]
- CoolerMaster UV Fan 12' Rs450

IF my motherboard comes in my hand then my rig will be up by sunday.

Guys wanted your views on this config.
Hope my Rig is up asap.
Just cant wait guys

Don't get the Vanilla 6600 from BIG. Saw a post of it giving probs in CHIP Forum. Also, only the 6600GT from BIG looks exactly like a BFG, nothing else from BIG looks so. Try and change that.

And been waiting for urs since the time u started poking for a config wayyyyyyy back in June ( Think so ).

Guys i am having a little budget issues thats why going for a 6600 Plain otherwise
wud have got a 6600GT.

In the middle decided on a 6200TC 256MB but later decided that atleast a 6600.

Later after december will upgrade to a new GPU.

I know that i have talking abt getting a new config since long but there were many
issues and my college fest preps and many such probs.

Also my motherboard is delaying my rig construction.
Plz pray guys that i get my motherboard this week.
Added l8er.

Guys had a discussion with Blade just now.

After talking with him it feels that i shud go for a 6200TC 256MB as i will be changing my GPU in dec.

yup since u r changing gpu its better u get cheap solution presently...also i guess u better get 450w smps...colorsit one...i got it 4 1500...but ppl here post they got theres 4 ard 1100-1200

Big 6200 256MB TC is 3950
Big 6600 256 is 5850

+ taxes i feel.

Also ne suggestion for a PSU , Max can spend 2500 for a 24 Pin PSU.

---------

Just had a talk with Funky
Powersafe 450W 24Pin has come Rs2600 only.
And only 10Pcs in mumbai told him to block one for me. ;)
And he says it workin gr8 with his DFI.

Waise if you are buying a 6200 then buy an Antec PSU instead of a PowerSafe... Will be worth it for overclocking ;)...

xfx 6200 256mb tc is 3k, how come big is more expensive?

The Powersafe 400W 24-pin was only 1.4K when I bought it. Spending almost 1.2K extra for a mere 50W more is not justified in my opinion . Also the 24-pin versions are merely the existing 400W/500W 20-pin models re-hashed with the 24-pin connector. Deejay had detailed the mod for a 20-pin to a 24-pin sometime back as well.

Antec arent yet giving out their TP 2.0 PSU's , though Darky has a SmartPower 2.0. That would be a good option too. Do not invest in any of the TP 1.0 PSU's, since a 24-pin PSU is highly recommended for the DFI.

Hmm, looks good :D Congrats finally Quad !

Hmm, IMHO get the 6200TC 128 and save for the PSU, get a Antec TP 2.0, worth the money.

Since your upgrading your GPU in Dec. don't pay too much attention to it, otherwise quite good.

Edit: which monitor ?

And what abt the sound part?? Getting an X-fi later?? And then what abt the speakers??

And yeah, go for the 6200 TC and save up money. Buy the Antec TP2.0 and the 7600/X1300 if and when it releases.....

dont know the reason behind the shortage of 450 Watt model of powersafe.

The problem Quad is facing is the budget matching. Antec is well out of his budget.

SmartPower 2 is not exactly cheap.

I am running my DFI currently on Powersafe 450 (24 pin) as i sold my Antec to saiyan. Waiting for TP2.0 to become available and then i will grab that.

So far its holding nicely with my SD @2.75 without any drop in voltage rails. and my older 400 watt Powersafe was not able to do so for some reason.

Powersafe has changed their OEM supplier from what i have heard but dont know which is it now.

Ya, ya forgot to mention, wait and get the X-Fi later. Also do not compromise on the PSU, get a TP 2.0, you'll be satisfied with it...

well i am running 500W powersafe currently in my Rig1 in my signature. and it has shut down two or three times since i built the rig in may ' 05. this was due to overloading as i was playing BF2 / farcry then. Kids in my house have played bf2 non-stop for about 36 hours (taking turns) on my rig without any shutdown or any glitches. it was at the setting of 285 HTT for the cpu @ 5:6 clock divider. but on some hot and humid days the pc has shut down (2-3 times till now as mentioned earlier) after playing bf2 for just 20 minutes.
so as i have always maintained this 500W psu is just about
bare minimum for my rig. (and it applies equally to the 400W model too since they both have rated 17A on the 12V rail. The 400Watter gets quite hot on full load. hotter than the 500W model.). if you have a mid to high end graphics card then it would be well advised to get 12V dual rail psu's with rated 17A on each and about 20 ~ 25 A combined , continuous output on the 12V rails. and add about 7A more to the combined output if you are gonna sli ......

N.B. "20 ~ 25 A combined , continuous output on the 12V rail" is important. do not go by the sticker values. they are very dicey and misleading ....

it is just like the difference of "PMPO" and "Continuous RMS" output values in audio ........... (a simple analogy, not to be taken literally)
