L&T states nation building is at the core of our mandate.

This is very old news. Hyderabad metro was poorly planned TBH, from what I heard and the biggest problem is last mile connectivity. Also, it was foolish of L&T to take 90% of ownership. Metro is never profit making business, right?

Probably this is what happens when people work for 90 hours a week. They are so tired that they stop seeing things straight. :D

I wonder if the old men will complain of the 30 religious holidays in a year next. All countries only have a handful of holidays like 3-4 days in an entire year, so we need parity in India to build the country. More holidays will make the workforce more lazy. /s

Saw this study on reddit. The source is behind a paywall but the reddit link has a big quote.

Isn't there a limit to the no of festival holidays we can take??
I mean while my calendar shows many, we can only take 4 in a year and that also varies as per region.

Joke! Every country has at least 8-10 festive or observation day holidays in a year.

Totally wrong! Holidays and leaves are required to increase productivity. Thats why 4 days a week work is in discussion with only 40-42hr to count.

According to my company leave calendar for '25, there are 9 compulsory holidays plus 3 on-demand holidays in addition to the standard PLs, SLs, and CLs.

Similar in my case but since last year they have been flexi on passing on the ball onto the employees as to which public/festive holidays they want to opt for. Like 26th jan 15th aug 2nd oct and 1st may is a mandatory holiday and the rest 8 leaves are up to emplyee which days he chooses based on the huge list provided. And yeah these leaves can be altered as and when required like if I chose diwali day as a holiday and just 24hrs prior to diwali I can change my mind and select another upcoming festive date as the holiday.
I really liked this concept of rather than forcing holidays on the employee we get the flexibility to choose ours!

Don't govt. employees get all religious holiday leaves ?
No, it depends on state. For example, Lohiri is a holiday in all Punjab state govt offices but not in any other state & it is not a bank holiday.

Is this pvt sector or psu because psu need to adhere to the holiday rules of the govt of state in which their office is located?

Bro!! You got me jealous now.

My company states 5 USA CH(still need to work), out of 20 Indian festivals, only 4 can be taken with prior approval from RM(so basically No!), 1 leave for birthday, 18 are total leaves, no Indian National holidays like 26th Jan, 15th Aug, 02nd oct etc.

Not only that, only people from Chennai, Noida and other big cities can take holiday for Dusshera. Smaller cities cannot opt for these holidays as it is not listed in our calendar.

In short, these companies are somewhat preparing us for 70-90 hrs/week or extra working hours with no WLB. It's just another form of torture.

everyone should have their choice if one wants to work more hours let the employee work in more hours But pay overtime .If employee wants to work more this week and to compensate it in next week he wants to take a leave let him and don't pay overtime .your employee should generate value at work place.

this jokers come from service based industries where they charge US /Europe on headcount and on hours people spent on projects .so they want to extract more .And like leaches they leach out the money earned. the organization has a cut for this team that team and at the end the actual employee gets peanuts. some shittty amazon coupons and shitty trophy certificates of work and people happily highlight in their achivements . this is just a certificate provided by an org k certified majdoor hai tu bhi majdoori karva sakta hai
