Hello everyone. Sorry about starting off on this great forum with a suggestion request topic. But I am in quite a predicament here.

My Budget is 50k no more (already stretched)

The (approximate) confic that i can think of is as follows:

Intel Core 2 Duo/Extreme (which model No Idea)
Motherboard (Need help with this one)
2GB DDR2 RAM
Nvidia 8800 GT(GT/X/S?) or Ati 4850
500 GB Sata HDD
19" Samsung LCD (if possible 20/22")
CPU Cabinet (iball/Caselogic)
Power Supply (Quantum or Corsair)
Wireless KB and Mouse
Speakers (I already Have Creative 5200 will use them only)

Did I miss anything?

All suggestions welcome.

Thanks a lot. :)

First off , this is not the right section for this.

Second,

Q6600 (L8 Batch) 10k (almost every game from now on will benefit from a quaddy)

P5Q Pro 8.5k

4GB DDR2 3.6k

Palit 4850 9k

640 AAKS 3.7k

19" Dell 10k

Elite 333 1.8k

MX518 1.6

Logitech KB .5 (wireless mouse and keyboard is not recommended for gamin)

Everglide Titan Mini .9k

VX450 3.8k

Comes around 52.xx , but these are approximate price i've quoted if u know the right place u will get it around 50k mark. Goodluck.

4GB DDR2 from transcend at 2.5k

Will you be OC'ing if not go for a cheaper board like a G31 or P31 from Gigabyte.

Mx 518 will cost you 1.2k and do you actually need a gaming mat for 0.9k wernt the steelseries cheaper ?

What kind of games do you play you might wanna considering a 4830 from KMD.

Thanks a lot for the quick and specific replies, I am going to be playing games like, Doom 3, Crysis and other new FPS Games.

Doom 3 and Crysis are not new games bru, If u not gonna play games that demand a quad (which a few does now and more to follow) then u can settle for E8400.

If u even think of playing GTAIV and such games u better get a Quad. Cuz somany game coming out this year will need a quad. but thats just me :)

Yeah GTA4 was also one of he games in my list to play, (when i get a new Setup) so as you advised, i'll go in for the quad. :)

I noticed the HDD got missed out. Anyways, any brand priority? 500 GB is what is aimed here. Also I'll have to use 64Bit XP/Vista right to use this RAM setup?

Yes 4gigs of RAM. :)

And get a Seagate/WD 500GB/640GB hard drive. I'd vouch for WD though. :P

Hi again,

another question, the Q6600 Quadcore was suggested, I want to ask what does the (L8 Batch) mean, will it be mentioned on the processor box? Gonna be going this saturday to nehru place.

Another question, This time about the gfx card.

The one suggested Palit HD4850 for about 8-9k is it the sonic edition or the stock HD4850 from palit? Will the Sonic edition be more expensive?

Sorry about not posting about actually what i got, but honestly speaking, i just remembered.

Well, the budget had to be stretched further and some compromises had to be made, the final price i had to pay was: 56690.00

Details:

Intel Core 2 Quad: 10500.00
Seagate 500 GB Sata 32 MB Buffer: 2850.00
Asus P5Q Pro: 9750.00
RAM Transcend DDR2 800 Mhz 2 x 2GB: 2050.00
Iball Cabinet Stunner + Glacialstars GS500A SMPS: 2700.00 (here's the Compromise)
DVD Writer MoserBaer OEM: 990.00
Microsoft Comfort Curve 2000 KBoard: 1000.00
Logitech MX 518: 1400.00
Palit HD 4850: 9250.00
UPS APC 500VA: 1950.00
Samsung T220 22" LCD: 14250.00

Grand Total: 56990.00

^
Instead of the current selected monitor get the SAMSUNG 2233SW for about 10k.
With the saved money, get the MSI 4870 from dealer section @ 12k.

Also, my recommendation is that you can also go in for a cheaper G31 based mobo.
You're mostly making the classic error of spending too much on CPU and compromising on everything else. Atleast for the RAM, get high quality sticks (Pi Blacks or so..).
The saved money will also let you go in for a quality PSU. You really owe it to your rig if you're spending 50k or so...
Good luck :)
