Wont the 750W PSU be an overkill?

Also Vincee you look like an AMD fan boy..
Even I LOVE AMD but after my sis got an intel laptop i have been impressed with intel too ;)

If u purchase 750w psu ull be on the safer side and who knows u can go with tri-crossfire/sli or even quad..... :p

And im not an amd fan boy instead i love intel. The reason i was suggesting u fx is because its price to performance ratio.. Under that budget ull get 8 cores which is actually good when money tasking. :)

Even my rig has i7 so no FANBOYISM....!!!!!!

Okay lol :p

I was wondering if i should drop the SSD and invest it into GPU, Adding 6.2k in HD 7870 will get me a HD 7950
And i can always add an SSD next year :p

Also i have 4-5 Year old 160gb Segate Barracuda 7200RPM will it still work with the new gen hardware?

Can you elaborate on your requirements... Actually in the op something different is mentioned for which fx8350, HD 7870 and a Seasonic S12 ii 520w is sufficient... You have put in many more requirements on the course of the thread...

Good call there by canceling ssd.

With that ssd amount u can easily get hd7950 but try to get SAPPHIRE HD7950 VAPOR-X OR OC OR BOOST one...

And as for ur old hdd u r still good. It will work just like that....

1. You are good and totally safe with Seasonic SS-750JS.
Its out of stock. Plus if anyone needs a huge 750W, I would not suggest the cheapest Seasonic on the market. This and the SS-850AT are cheaper than most good 650W units, so I would be wary. 550W and above, I would look at a Seasonic G or X or a Corsair HX, nothing else.

+1 for corsair hx. But it will cost op more but he will get trusted one.

It is available in flipkart, infibeam etc.

Why dont you look at Corsair tx-750v2.. Though my rig has tx650v2 it is enough to juice my gtx 670+ cpu overclockings & some tweaks:D

It is 80+ Bronze....

I have done loads of research on gpu [Around 20hours of seeing various benchmarks/fps/fps variance etc] and i can confiently say that 660 performs way lower than 4% when compared to 7870
[Also 7870 can be oc'ed later on]

ya with latest nvidia drivers things have changed a bit.in some games gt 660 beats hd 7870 or gtx 660ti beats hd 7950 like in crysis 3 , battlefield 3...etc

Yes. In those games nvidia scales better than amd but try the same in Alien Vs Predator or Metro 2033 the result is mirrored or vice versa. For higher res. hd7950 is better than gtx 660ti may because of Memory Bandwidth & more VRam.:)

Not sure if i have changed any requirments..I still plan on running 8-10 RS bots 20hrs a day and play BF3/BF4 Crysis 3 Dota2 etc
Might buy a new 1080p monitor and use it as dual monitor system that is why i am worried about my gpu :(

Okay so my current build is this:
Processor - AMD FX 8350 @ 11.6K
Motherboard - Asus M5A97 EVO R2.0 @ 7.2K
Ram - GSkill RipjawX 2x4gb1600 MHz @ 4.5K
Case - Cooler Master HAF 912 Combat side panel window @ 4.8k
ODD - Asus 24X SATA Black DVD R/W @ 1K
GPU: Gigabyte AMD/ATI GV-R7870OC-2GD 2 GB GDDR5 @ 17.9k
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1 TB HDD @ 4.2k
PSU: Corsair VS650 650W @ 4.1k

TOTAL - 55.3k
If i add in 5k more somehow i can upgrade HD7950 Vapor-X as recomendded by Vincee

How about the PSU i mentioned ?

20hrs a day doing heavy multi tasking is a breeze for fx 8350.

If ur going for multimonitor setup i say you go with hd7950 atleast because it has more vram and high memory bandwidth which is very essential when playing on multimonitor. Specially in AA.

If youre going with all these high end stuffs then why are you trimming your psu???

Dont know much about psu.:D

And for rest all your config looks good except cabinet. If you are investing that type of money on cabby u have to look at which can provide sufficient aircooling. My old rig had CORSAIR CARBIDE 400R.

Let others do the talking:)

Why are you both prefering Corsai 400r, CM HAF912 with side window looks amazing cool and also has a very nice air flow system [Saw it in YT VID]

Vincee i am not going to play on both the monitors, just going to play on 1 monitor you still recommend 7950 ?
And Ashish also please give me a sepcific [w/ model number :p] nice PSU of 600+ W

400r was my personal choice dont know about others. If you do good cable management your will look very clean.

If you are gaming on 1080p monitor and maxing all bells and whistles in a game, hd7950 is must.

If you want cheap yet good psu you look no other than seasonic or maybe even corsair.

Then seasonic s12 620w psu @rs 4800-5000[DOUBLEPOST=1370167490][/DOUBLEPOST]Looks doesnot matter in cabinet, corsair 400r has better air flow, better quality and better cable management than haf 912.

choice is yours,i still suggest get 400r

Ok.

Dont know maybe/maybe not because hd7950 struggles in crysis 3 a bit and who knows what happens in the near future. But if you overclock your card it can run games maxed for another 1-1.5 years or even medium high settings. All and all youll not regret your card.:)
