Need help as a person newly into Drone Flying

hi-pk

Apprentice
I am gaining interest in drones. So, I bought a beginner drone worth 5k, used it for a month, and crashed it from height. I believe that I have learned a lot from it (like what not to do etc...) and now I am a decent Drone pilot. I am a student, hence I have a small budget, yet want to proceed with my so called HOBBY. What will you people suggest I should do?

Thanks . Was travelling and middle of an expedition. So could not reply.

I hope OP found the drone he is looking for.
Otherwise DJI neo again is my best suggestion as beginner drone .
Otherwise if OP wants to take a little more chance. DJI mini 3 or even 2 might be available at more affordable prices now.

After having played around with several "toy" drones , DJI is the only viable option .
Mini 4K is possibly the best option for the beginner wanting to get into an advanced mode
There is nothing else that really comes close.

Sadly, the gov in its infinite wisdom has blocked imports of DJI which has pushed local prices to 2X that of intl prices.
Done supposedly in the name of boosting local manufacturing - with the catch that there is no real local manufacturing to begin with

Our many rules are very stupid and way outdated even the ones being coming out recent times.

Like Forced to purchase SIM In Ladakh as rest of Indian SIM does not work there( unless post paid)
Security reasons ..but how difficult is it to get a new SIM for terrorists. ..so how does this rule help actually. God knows.

Another example...recently a adventurous couple coming to India from USA had Garmin satellite Gps ( one that sends messages through satellite in need of emergency) .

They got arrested for bringing it.
Firstly..even iphones have that tech now and Android is bringing out too.

Secondly you promote Indian Himalayas as great place for adventures and the very basic device that is required for outdoor activity in emergency is so restricted in today's time.

Terrorists have updated themselves . They have different means of communication in forms of HUMINT and other signals.
In many operations they have found terrorist no longer carry satellite phones because it is easy to track them with it nowadays as tracking devices are much better now.

So why so much restriction when there is no need also and they are not helping much.

I second the DJI Mini. It is suprisingly full featured yet easy to cut your teeth on.

That said, some warning follows:

@solo_wing This is your first warning. You are coming dangerously close to speaking sense and exhibiting independent thought. You are close to sedition, treason, and possibly being a traitorous spy.

@superczar How dare you even state that there is no manufacturing happening here? Have you not looked at the papers? Have you not seen the amazing success of Make in India movement? Now we have mechanical keyboards, bluetooth speakers, and most recently even iPhones that are being made in India and exported to other countries.

Both of you need to temper down your rhetoric and keep in mind, that whatever the west has invented and is about to invent, we have had all those during the time or Mahabharatha and Ramayana.

And please note, Gau Mootr has been used as a cure for cancer for ages here. The west did not yet discover this.

Bought following drone offline from daddydrones, kid broke it thrice and got same repaired thrice for 200 - 300 everytime.

They have launched a new drone which is high priced and they claim, same has features of professional drone:

My only advantage buying from them was getting drone repaired.. (max it takes 5-7 days)

Good to see that Daddy Drones is dependable. Was looking for a basic one, so might pick it up from there, considering it can be serviced in Mumbai.

In India rules are there to stop honest people from making progress by getting them as frustrated as possible. It never stops the criminals.
@solo_wing Is there any drone maker worthwhile other than DJI? Do you know of price of DJI Flip in India? Thanks.

DJI is most reliable for Indian markets because there is still good chance of finding it's spare parts.

After DJI..Autel is very well known for making high end consumer drones.

I will not advice to go for flip.

Instead DJI mini 2 or 3 is better .

Best beginner drone is DJI neo. Nothing like that drone. Small , smart and does the job well without spending too much.

DJI is releasing new mini drone soon as per rumours.
Might as well wait for it.

Thanks. Why do you recommend avoiding the flip? At a cursory glance, it seems like a very good choice with protection for propellers as well.

Price is almost 2 times of DJI neo. ( With little extra benefits)
$420 vs $780.
( Fly more combo)
Always go for fly more combo specially for any DJI drone. Specially if plan to use for long time(2-5 years)

DJI Flip is mostly just better camera and better windspeed overall.
But for lot higher price .

Same can easily be achieved through DJI Mini 2 or 3 as they have really sharp camera and good wind stability for half the price ($ 450).

Imp. Update for all.
Btw guys...drone is going to be little tough flying around soon.
I am travelling now but just search on google.
Indian army has asked govt. To further restrict drone flying in India.

What exactly measures i dont know.

Thanks to Ukraine attacking inside Russia with drones.

Dont think very high flying and longer flying drones is a good idea for future.
