Need Help importing HiFiMAM HM-602

its a good DAC because of the pelnty of choises for modifiacation .....as a DAC ....because the headphone out does not use the tube part ...its SS only .....whatever tube you put in it wont cange the sound is youa re using it from "headphone out" ...tube only comes in to pcutre if you use the line out from the back (RCA)

also there are 2 places to put the opamp ( one for amp and one for DAC)

DAC od D1 ...plenty of choises ( tube rolling and diff Opamp choises ) ....v/s ....headpone amp D1 ( only opamp modification) (also i have read the HDAM sun helps only if used in the DAC part not the amp part ....may be wrong though as i dont have first hand experience)

did you Import the Hdam and w396a ...from where

And HM are not just for the AKG ...bassically they are meant for portable use ...( AKGs are anyyhing but portable).
 
Err... I've swapped opamps aplenty - LT1364 / LM4562NA / Sun HDAM - in both places. Tubes : GE NOS, WE 396A, Raytheon 5670W. I'm using it in my speaker setup, so I know all you're saying about D1 - I've written a few notes on them on HiFiVision scattered over many threads. I've even done a run of the mill "case mod" to accommodate Sun HDAMs - though very unpleasant to look at. I've swapped a few more opamps in Essence STX sound card too.

Tubes.... eBay. HDAM directly from Kingwa.

RE262 ....from the review so far are hard to drive... 150ohm ..but being bundled with HM-602 thats not a problem ....will also test them with the S:flo and maverick D1 when they arrive....also they look good fromwhat i have gathered.

you dont like re252....and re1 ...and re0!! ...BTW you like M2 and do not like RE1 .??!! ...you have darkvoice right ...?use them with re1. ...then give me YOUR REVIEWS

you will get RE-262 before me!!!.... dealership advantages....hay ..delers are not supposed to peek in to the box!(or open it)

I am a bass-head as well as a treble-head... well! it's complicated. I enjoy all signatures for what they are. I like analytical signature more.

@strategy,

Someone on head-fi mentioned that RE-262 "deserves" a better source than HM-602, which means that with better sources like a headphone amp with plenty of power driven by a good source, it could scale up even better. I am hoping to get your views on them via D1.

Any idea when they are going to be shipped to you?

Sometimes Advantage Is Great Lol ,BTW RE262 Is Up for Grabs Also .I Have a Qinpu A3 to Drive the Same ,Let Me Get Hold Of The New Toys .Well My Taste Does Not Have liking of the RE series at all .

Well,

I will Answer that He does Not Know When they would be shipped they will be shipped in another 1 to 2 weeks time frame ,This time HM-602 would be manufacturer for mass market and will be in stock with all minor and major distributors .

Read that comment ( "sup." was it? ) ....was happy yet disaapointed ( for the obvious reasons) . will surely test the RE262 with D1 ....but i hope HM is enough ( for HM's sake ). but that was a single comment ( he was an experienced user though)

currently he is shipping to the ones who ordered before 21st aug. I ordered on 28th. ...lets see ........it will get here soon as they will be shipping via TNT ( asked them to ...they said OK ....EMS has f***ed me enough)

I think your 602s should be fine to drive 262.

Anyways, something interesting to read about 602/801 etc., that has more "rice" than I managed to swallow today -

I am so fed up with this thing. I am going for the real setup soon. A real two channel speaker/amplifier setup. No more IEMs/Headphones for me.

Anyone up for less than a month old UDAC and RE-0 combo ?
 
^ Speaker setup is going to be no different. Variables are even more with a decent speaker setup. I consider portable world less complicated ;)

You see its more of Been There, Done that thing. Now that I've tried the portable stuff, i want to try the real stuff. I know I'll sell that one as well after a while.

Just trying to satisfy the itch man :) Nothing more.

Erm, the 602 has an output of 28 ma @ 32 ohms. That is how much a Fiio E3 gives. :P

So dont expect wonders from it !

But on the bright side, the RE262 seems to be one heck of a earphone. :D

Also I dunno about the 'hype' of Chinese mp3 players.

My amp3 stopped working for a while and I used my BlackBerry 8330 for some time. I liked the sound from my BB and did not find much difference between the BlackBerry and the Sansa clip+.

However once the Amp3 was repaired I realised that it had a few nuances that were better than the BlackBerry. The soundstage performance especially was better on the Amp3. Background instruments just 'felt' better on the Amp3. Vocal performances again I 'felt' was more lush and intimate on the Amp3.

Sure the Amp3 has lots of drawbacks (I remember PMing Esantosh a huge litany of negatives ! :P) but for pure SQ its very good. :)
 
At least, you did not break your piggy bank when buying Amp3. Same with S:Flo2. They are in the same price range as the other 'normal brand' players. But, HM-801/602 are in a different league in terms of price. It's one thing to fall off a ladder, another thing to fall from 45th floor ;)

Nobody read the "rice" link I provided? Interesting... :)
 
I read the Rice Link. Couldnt make head and Tails of it. Except the Rice guy threatening the OP et etc.
There are some pics of the components inside which gives the perception that these components were taken straight out of a garbage pile.
Is he complaining about the quality and manufacturing process or that the comp design was stolen from something else. Cuz i read that the Nankai person told OP that he got a Testing Piece and not a actual production Unit.
Its quite a Huge post and translation isnt perfect.
