If budget is a priority, get a i3 2100 instead of the i5, the difference in fps will not be very noticable, IMO. Next sell your old stuff here and fund this purchase.
 
thanks a lot guys, i will be going for just 4GB of RAM right now, will upgrade later on. how about a corsair PSU??

Also how much do you guys think i will get for my old components??
 
Corsair tx650 v2-5.2k is what you should get if seasonice s12ii 620w is not available,both are great,solid power supply,great performer.

Seasonic s12II and Corsair both are available at theitwares.
So i would recommend you to buy from them as i had good experience with them.
I bought Seasonic s12II 520w and GFX HD 6850 and it was packed well and delivered safely.
And you also have primeabgb in mumbai so they have these components and price is also good so you wont be having any issues with availability.

Around 10000/- to 12000/- tops considering the condition they are in, the premium for DDR II memory and a VX 450 SMPS.

Wait for others to pour in their suggests.
 
Sorry for the late reply guys. Some personal problems to take of

ok so, the thing is that my budget has been revised

i will be retaining the VX450, 9800GT and the HDD. So, i now need a CPU,mobo,ram and cabby for around 20k

i know i want a i5 2400, but that im confused about is the RAM,mobo.

Also, i wont be overclocking or anything like that. All i need is the RAM and mobo to accompany the i5. so im looking for most VFM mobo and RAM out there. The mobo should allow for a bit of future proofing. can a cabby like the CM690 also be accomodated in that budget??

For those concerned, the PSU and GPU will be upgraded in the months to come as the budget is a little tight at the moment.

thanks man....i see a lot of people suggesting the Intel mobo.

My dad on the other hand says if that 'POS' is in the house, it will go right into the trash (with everytthing else)...

so whats up with that??

also what about the CM690 for the cabby?

another thing....how much of a performance differenxe is between the 2320 and 2400?
 
^^ Not a great deal both are quad-cores locked multiplier, so very limited over-clocking handles, the 2320 is slightly slower clocked, but that notwithstanding it should be up and kicking for atleast 2 years from now easily.

The Cooler Master 690 is a good cabinet but a little pricey. But I leave it to you on whichever cabinet you want to buy my personal push is behind the NZXT.
 
Yup,that's why i quoted little difference,it's upto op to get 2400 or 2320.

well it looks like i will be buying the i5 2400 and the intel mobo, gskill ram (undecided on the cabby).....now the question is....where will i get the best rates?? i hardly get time from work, so buying online is a good option......HALP plz.
