New ACT(BEAM) Broadband Plans-2015

just a tiny query , how long does the FUP last for you guys ?

my 75 gb gets over in 10-15 days

I usually have to ration my 200 GB quota. In some months, I have barely hit the 150 GB limit by the end of the month, but in others, 200 GB could be consumed in the first week itself if I am not careful.

In Jan, I hit 80 GB by the 2nd of the month and then started rationing so it took till 26th to consume the rest of 120 GB.

This weekend, I went from 95 GB to 165 GB. 40 GB out of that was consumed in barely 1.5~2 hours on Sunday when I started installing Bioshock Infinite from steam.

What ISP & Plan are you using ? , Also, if you don't mind, Can you please do the leaseweb bandwidth test, and share the results ?

^^ I already posted some details and speedtest results sometime back. Its Beam Hypersonic 50 Mbps plan.
Can you link me to the leaseweb test? I can only find some link with test files, no speed test page

just received this SMS

Even i got the sms, I am sure, FUP reset will be on pro rata basis after an hour from now. ACT will never want to loose money.
They have few Gb's to spare this month i assume, Recently they added Airtel.

Common guys don't do kanjoosi, post some screenshots of File speed downloads from various location in the link below.

They are resetting speeds everyday midnight till 31st march 23:59. Keep the downloads going. I know people who have done more than 500Gb in the last 5days.

Hint: They have some spare unused bandwidth with the addition of airtel line for this month.

Previously they used to have just Tata and Vodafone, Now they have airtel as their wholeasle bandwidth provider with those two.

@swatkats I did conduct the test on the 100mb files on leasedweb servers, the East coast servers gave me abysmal transfer rate of 123kbps max, the West Coast was much better at 1Mbps, still no where close to my actual bandwidth.

What results do you get?

How come after buying bandwidth from these companies, ACT provides cheaper plans than them ?
These companies have wholesale division, which sell bandwidth for quite less when you buy in Bulk say 50-60Gbps.
Right now ACT pricing is somewhere around less than 230Rs/Megabit per month for a capacity 130-150Gbps, I cannot get in to specifics since i don't know much.
BSNL pricing is around Rs 200/megabit per month for a capacity of 220Gbps.

If you go to these TATA or Xyz and asked for leased line they will charge you a minimum of 5000 for 1mbps leased line, The pricing doesn't get better until the quantity exceeds 2.5Gbps.

So basically, these companies are milking its customers as much as it can!

An update on 100Mbps plan:

Download speeds from US servers are pathetic.. Not going above 500kb/sec
Download Speeds from Europe are better hitting 80% of the package up to 9Mb/sec
Download Speeds from Singapore are even better going up to 11mb/sec.

PS: Checked at my Friends place. I am on 20mbps plan.

Got to know from my friend in ACT that they have large domestic bandwidth than International bandwidth.
They will use this as a reason saying "If it goes out of network, we can no control over speeds" Albeit this is true but what they have is domestic bandwidth, That is why you good speeds in India and not outside.
They directly peer with Google, Cache Torrents because most of the people use it. Now a days ISP's Promising High Speed are doing the same way.
