Well, in that case Axis bank Visa / Master Card debit card will also work. I guess all Visa / Master Card debit / credit card can be used.

Well, but that's not really a solution...many members doesn't have that and asked other members to pay them in paypal and they used to NEFT the money.

^ Not really. I have tried my HDFC, ICICI and City Union Bank Visa debit cards and none of them worked with Paypal. Only Visa/MasterCard debit cards issued by certain banks work with Paypal (Indian Bank, PNB?)

But all international Credit Cards work fine.

i was also disappointed...last time i recieved money from Gaurish and i later NEFTed him

@varkey are you sure indian bank debit cards work? which one maestro or visa ?

^^Indian bank also issues Maestro?????

I thought it was only issued by SBI, BTW be sure tat Maestro won't work, ever....

@hA1d3R : Yes, I am sure about Indian Bank MasterCard debit card, my friend used it to make a payment. I also read a post in another thread that PNB Visa or MasterCard debit card worked too.

It should be Visa/MasterCard, very less chance for a Maestro card to be accepted.

@krishnandu : Yes many banks issue Maestro Debit Cards, Indian Bank, even HDFC issues them sometimes.

master card debit cards are branded as maestro and visa cc are branded as visa electron ....are there any different debit cards?

Mail is clear.

Paypal cant be used to buy any goods and service for Indian buyer(or source of paypal money should be valid) plus amount in paypal should be reversed into your bank account.

It was obvious this will happen as paypal wants to free itself from taxing liabilities and may be this was part of DTAT of government as paypal account is hardly or never shown by a resident in his tax returns .

MasterCard and Maestro debit cards are different (You can know from the logo) Maestro uses a PIN based authentication.

master card debit card is password based ? similar to verified by visa? In US the debit cards work same as credit cards online?

This spells trouble for retailers using PayPal also.

As for withdrawing Rs.6999 or less from your account you need to pay Rs.50 as fees, generally you could wait for the amount in your account to exceed 7000 and then withdraw it for free.

Now with this 1 week rule it might be difficult to accumulate 7000 in 1 week or else pay Rs.50 and further reduce margins.

I hope retailers don't take off PayPal as a payment option, with Indian ecommerce booming these kind of moves are uncalled for and troublesome.

This is only for INDIAN paypal account :(

first they removed Indian debit cards and then they removed the personal payment transfer and now we cant use balance to buy items WTF

INDIA has got second highest population in the world , still they are avoiding us ............ :(

even the ICICI VISA debit cards don't work with paypal and many online sites. only the CC works.

It's not Paypal who is blocking Indian debit cards, it seems to be the banks itself. My ICICI & HDFC Debit Cards have never worked with Paypal.
