Tickrate is the no. of times a server communiates with a client in 1 second. So higher is better, but valve admits going over 100 tick can lead to both server and client side problems. So basically 100 tick > 66 tick > 33 tick.

But since bandwidth requirements for 100 tick are rather high, 66 tick is the best compromise. :)
 
@dj hey i was sailing the same boat when i started playing CSS 2.5 weeks ago :D i thought funky and switch do a lot of cheating around getting the frags and less deaths :@ but later improved myself a little bit :D it takes its own time i guess, sadly my rank is damn screwed still 800 kills andd 1297 deaths >.<

The Valve India (Rather CyberGames India) Servers are being maintained by V-Street.net itself. We have helped them put it up and are continuing to Help em out with the Maintainence. But increasing the Tickrate of the servers, or making and changes, is upto them. Only when they give us to Go ahead, do we change the Key elements.
 
every sg server is giving me 50-70ms but this valve whingy is giving me 500ms+

ermm..which country am i in again? :S .....me a thai

Well, MOST, of the guys in India get <100ms to Exatt (Where V-Street and CGI are hosted).

Also, watch out guys....

V-Street is putting up Servers in Delhi and Bangalore very soon ;).

Watch out for it :D.

A server admin and moderator making posts like these is shocking...

I don't play there, but if I used to, I would never ever enter the server after reading such posts.

We @ V-Street are renting Servers.

You get same pings to v-Street and CGI. Their machines are one over the Other :P.

Heres info on server rentals.

I have no issues of ping here on these server.

Getting fantastic pings, 15-25 range.

But noone ever plays on this server.

I went there stayed for 10 minutes noone joined and i quit.

I would like to stay with sgwargames. We get people to play on these servers.

And deejay i havent seen anyone abuse the admin power to degrading level on te server.

Autoaim is not some cheat that only admins can use. its a hack and mind you there are pros out there who will kill you before you even get time to react with pistol.

We had 2 game rounds so far of 10000 health and that was purely for fun with stats disabled. I think your nephew was slayed couple of times and was warned that he will be kicked because he most of the times camp in some corner with gun or sniper, never completes mission or goes to plat/defuse bomb :P

Dont even think about kicking someone if they dont die when you spray entire clip on them with AK, most of the times if you empty complete clip of ak on someone there is good chance you are not hitting him.

AK is accurate only in short burst, you spray and you start missing. The person will kill you with pistol if you keep doing that. Its not hack, after you do this check the logs and see how much damage you actiually gave to other person you will know you barely given him 20-30 damage if you spray ( luck aside ;) )
 
@ Funky, AK can be used to Sprayas well, if you can control the Recoil.

Ask aks, bastard doesnt let me go only :|.

Im sure Deejay was just kidding anyways :S.
 
Ak's recoil is pretty easy to control, so is m4's....

and i dunno if admin options has an auto aim opton?? :huh:

What tickrate? Is SFTP/SSH access available? If it is hosted in Windows, then forget SSH access....

I can offer a 18 tick 1.6 server for TE for i think Rs 50 per slot, no issues. ITs all in the tickrate Aditya. Both of us agree that it is hopeless to get the Vstreet and CGI (sigh....) admins to afford higher tickrates. They prefer to put 4 18 tick servers instead of 2 100 tick servers.

+ arent the client servers gonna be hosted on the same machine?
 
There are some reasons to play on sg servers instead of Indian servers...
  1. First we are already admins and all is already set... :D
  2. Second, we have a guy named Karan for all the problems and he rocks... :bleh:
  3. We find all good players for scrims there (mostly sgs). I think finding 10 scrimmers at a time on indian servers will be QUITE difficult... :no:
  4. And the pings (due to air distance) to sg is not that fluctuating from different parts of India as in India itself. What I mean to say I am getting 130-140 ping on this server, some are getting as low as 10 :S. The same will happen if the server is in Delhi. I will get lower pings, others may get 130-140...
  5. Tick rates... :)
  6. And the most important, Its a start for these servers, but they are already lagging... :(
 
@ Karan, first off, he asked himself if Valve rents servers. Look here.

Im not a Marketting Genious over here to slide it out and try to get V-Street more customers. Were earning more than we have wished for and were happy with it.

@ Justin, the reason why those CGI Servers are lagging is becoz of their Settings. They have no idea what their doing. Were only helping take care of the Machine's. So its all upto them.

V-Street isnt lagging a bit if you look.
