my sister using a canvas 2 for more than a year.Dont forget most Micromax and Karbonns conk off in 6-8 months or develop problems. I've seen their service centre and their service. A relative bought one, in a month sent back for a problem, got it back after 3 months, with a new problem. LOL
I myself own a Micromax tablet. The Usb port gives shocks, the charger pin came lose and broke in 15days.my sister using a canvas 2 for more than a year.
just head on to xda for feedback on items before just generalizing about the gadgets.
i have seen the above mentioned problem with the flagship samsungs, HTcs and Lgs too.
same was the case with Sony earlier with accel who would service to other brands too.
having said that their service centres are a mess, but the phones in general are not designed to conk off at 6 months.
by june the same karbonn and micromax are slated to release windows phones too.
And how does this help m$ ? if it makes android more desirable. Lookie here, we got root, oh there is a custom rom. Does WP have any of this ? no! its for your own safety.Hence i repeat... If these phones have good developer support, they will be real good vfm considering nokia quality.
and you are still using it?.My canvas 2 visited the service center twice in 1.5 yes , now if something fails I'll throw it in the bin .
Talk about over analyzing. The simpler explanation is that Nokia found a very easy way to retire s40 and s60. Google's monoply will break as they make inroads in the next few releases, Android hardcore fans get a Nokia, cheapass phones get a capable OS, Everyone is happy. And how does this help m$ ? if it makes android more desirable. I still can't figure out why Nokia did this. Asha++ ? or is WP an absolute failure and this is Nokia trying to hedge. Who knows with whom Nokia will be sleeping with next year.
There is the let's offer an alternative to google services thing. This then acts as a stepping stone to where exactly ? a lumia running WP8.x
..or a quest for a higher end android phone, which is also possible and a risk by putting affordable good quality phones in the hands of the budget conscicious, running the competitors OS (!)

i wish they would but only if they get a divorce from M$ otherwise the chance is zero of ever seeing a flagship nokia with android as it makes no sense whatsoever. I find this decision already to be quite strange & risky.Who know they might release highend stuff too once they have a better Ecosystem.

Look up the chipset and see whether sources are available. Not so popular means no sources.Developer support would help Nokia X to sell more than the devices which are not so popular with the developers, especially at the lower end and in the developing markets. And selling a few more extra devices other than the Lumias would at least help Nokia to live and fight for another day.
because it isn't everyday that companies come out with products that feature their competitors OS when they already offer an alternative. The word 'android' appears in Nokia's marketing literature for these phones. Why does one have to think over what microsoft was thinking while bringing these X phones to the market??

The low end nokia devices sell well. These phones are another option to the 'which phone to get for my parents or grandparents'.
Hard core android fans go for an android phone in whatever budget they have.By using android ?
Asha sells so they need that segment but how the heck did they get m$ to agree to that.
hardcore android fans go with budget phones ?
no, they are targeting people with low budgets. Who once they get a taste for android will spend more on the next android phone and get the real thing. why settle for less. You can say without google services it will slow down their absorption into the google ecosystem.
The key determinant of whether 3rd party software will ever appear is whether the chipmaker of that phone releases the sources. Does not matter how popular it is, no code = no 3rd party support, that simple. So anybody want to comment on the likelihood of the chipmaker doing that ? OMAP, Snapdragon are very good at this. Others not that good to non-existent.
I don't know if the google monopoly can be broken. if the market does not do it the govt will. Goggle will get the same treatment that m$ got in the late 90s. You know you are successful when the govt thinks you have become too big

Nokia's stock was in the toilet in 2011, this for a former market leader.
why didn't they go with android to begin with![]()

Who owns nokia ?Nokia is a phone company. They dont have a single OS policy like Apple. They are already in Red. They are trying to make money, they are trying to make a dent in competitors market. Android is first and foremost an open source mobile operating system.
Making money is a good thing in business.
Exactly, Who owns Nokia? Microsoft. So Now that Nokia is a Microsoft Company, unless Microsoft decides otherwise, it will sell Windows phones till eternity. Now thats ASSURED, can they go into Android, Eat some of their profit, which will go to Microsoft? Hell yeah.Who owns nokia ?
HELLO!
