Many congrats man! Nokia Music for just 3 months really sucks - I have a year's free subscription. I guess the scheme varies from model to model. Did you try downloading the tracks from the store?
As an alternative for YouTube, try Metrotube.
Games - Mirror's Edge, Modern Combat 4, Asphalt 7 Heat, Contre Jour, NFS Hot Pursuit, Breeze, Gravity Guy, Hangman (excellent TP!).

Yes I downloaded a few albums from the store, the quality is good!
Metro tube is a paid app, downloading the trial version now. Not that it costs much, but im trying to get a workflow going with free apps first. And downloading seems loads better

There is no real heating issue. Most Smart phones heat mildly on heavy use. Lumias are the same.
@Party Monger - turn off those unwanted stuff that consumes battery. Turn off location services (you can enable them when you use GPS), setting the brightness to low (you really don't need a higher brightness level because the screen is pretty much readable under daylight conditions), block all the apps. under background tasks etc.
And download ConnectivityShortcuts so you can have individual icons for enabling 3G, WiFi, Location services and Bluetooth on your homescreen, instead of browsing all the way to settings and enabling them. No live tile though!
Some titles are free, some others are paid (Rs. 50 to Rs. 350). The paid titles can be demo'ed as well before making the final purchase.

Try an app called "battery". It gives detailed battery percentage, time left etc in the big live tile. You click the tile and on the single page itself you have icons for wifi, bluetooth etc that you can change easily. I love that app. The developer is adding more stats etc soon!Here is a screenshot.
On my phone, I've kept the screen on auto. Apparetly on Auto the screen brightness goes even much lower than the low setting

No, you can developer unlock it, you can google for the procedure, and install some 10 xap files. There are a few homebrew developers.

As a user, ro jailbreaking or rooting is applicable for this platform. The device can be used as-is. And pretty much can be used OOTB with minimal changes.
I had a battery app. before which displayed a small battery with the % of juice left on the lock screen. But it used to report the stats incorrectly. Uninstalled the app.

Check the screenshot. It updates automatically at set intervals so it might be slitgly off by a few percents. Also gives toast notifications for excessive drain of battery , charge complete etc.

Try myTube too. Pretty nice alternative. Not free either, but you can try

As per the numerous reviews, it is one of the best sub-10K phone. AFAIK, the cheapest deal was on HS18 Superdeals a few days ago. It may be live again in a few days.
