Brian Klug, AT has come up with a very good review - AnandTech - Nokia Lumia 800 Review - Nokia's Brave New Foray into WP7

Been in love with this device ever since I saw this on display at the Nokia outlet at Oberoi Mall, Bombay.

Nice review!

But I am not sure about the battery graphs,

IP4s with 5.0.1 is definitely having less web browsing time(at least on wifi) compared to GS2(complete stock ROM,CFW rooted kernel,no UV script) in my case.

And I have tested it more than twice.

Double post by me, but this is now available for 22599 on eBay from a Noida seller. Add a 5% coupon for further reduction [21469]

That is some serious price drop on the eBay link! Any idea why? It used to retail around the 30k mark last I checked.

^ The price drop seems to be across the board with almost everyone retailing in the 24K range. I guess this must be a Nokia directive.

You bastid!

Christ that is one heck of a pricecut . Glad that nokia finally realized that they had priced 800 way too high , especially when one compare it with other top phones available in the market. but i am slightly disappointed , had bought two couple of week back for 27.5k . just had a talk with one of the local shopwala and he confirmed that its available for 22.5k , have ordered one for myself

I never bought a mobile phone above 2.5 K sofar. But after seeing the Nokia video on the Engineering designing team of Lumia 800, I was curious and went to a nearby shop and tried it for few minutes.

I would say its a true 'Male' among cell phones. I used iPhone, Galaxy , even I own a iPad2. Yes, iPad is a different ball game.

Lumia 800: How and what should be a cell phone , this is it. Legendary Nokia build quality, superb UI , even the fonts and organization is better than that of iPhone. This is truely an engineering product. I agree with Nokia's and Microsoft's claim. They did a lot of ground work, started from scratch. I dont see any room for worrying about the hardware..

And I dont know how stable the OS is, Microsoft updation should be there , it should not be a problem

My conclusion:

iPhone: for people with Artitistic mind, and having some extra money in the pocket, want to show public that they have it .(Offcourse its a great product)

Lumia : For guys with a statement. Appreciate and value engineering....

Galaxy: Enjoy Ladies, enjoy...(better than your boyfriend)

Earlier this week in Refresh Roundup, we wrote of a Vodafone-branded update for the Lumia 800 with a designation of 1600.2487.8107.12070. Among the enhancements, the new software version was said to provide longer battery life -- a welcome improvement, no doubt -- but we could've never guessed the significance of the gain. The folks at WPCentral recently forced the update onto their own phones and, get this, they assert the new software has nearly tripled(!) their battery life. While our heads are still spinning at the assertion, they claim the improvements are in part due to better management of the screen's brightness and cite an approximate discharge of 70mA when idle. Meanwhile, reports in the forums of xda-developers claim that battery drain is in the neighborhood of 80mA and 90mA when idle -- not quite as stunning, but still a huge improvement in comparison to the approximate 150mA discharge with the previous version. While your mileage may vary, this latest update could prove to be a true godsend for Lumia 800 owners.
