Nvidia 4000 series cards

since you plan on upgrading next year then just stick to 3060 12gb variant. unless you have lot of disposable income then sure aim for 3080 at least if you want 2k 140+fps in single player games (with dlss quality)
3080 atm in used market goes for 40K if its around 6months old. so if you plan to sell it later on then be aware of its selling value as it will only get less with time.

also inno3d variant of 40 series are quite cheap like 4090 goes for 1.38L (just undervolt the GPU to reduce temps/power and you'll be good)
4090 below 1.5L? where?

All prices will fall significantly by end of q1 and be in line with expectations...imo it is foolish to buy a last gen card at current prices if you are not in a hurry
This has been a never ending wait. Was waiting since beginning of 2021. Not able to play most of the new gen games on my display unless I set it to low settings (GTX 1650). Anyways, at the end of 2023 or start of 2024, I will upgrade entire rig. That time, I would go with the latest high end card.

I am in a massive dilemma here. Need: 2K 144hz gaming and chatbot training

Gigabyte rtx 3080ti 12gb wind force 3x for 80k. Is this a good deal?
Zotac Rtx 3080 trinity 10gb Rs 70k
Zotac 3060 Ti for 36k
Other option it to go middle ground for 3070 Ti for 45k.

Heart says 3080 Ti, brain says 3070 Ti, upgrade to 4xxx after a year or two.

All this thanks to Nvidia going greedy with 4080. But then, with 4080, I do not want to use by B450 motherboard and I have to upgrade my 650W PSU as well. And if I have to upgrade my mobo, I will probably upgrade my CPU and as I go with 7xxx CPU, I end up with moving to DDR5. This is the worst time to upgrade!!!!!
5 jan 4070ti ( older 4080 12 gb )
What if the 7900XTX was meant to use GDDR6x rather than GDDR6? The performance would have undoubtedly been a little bit better.

what if they put HBM memory lol .they are equally bad as nvidia .Cost of chiplet is low compared to large monolithic die which nvidia is using .

regarding 4070ti matching 7900xtx with RT off means in it will have to surpass 4080 and in some games it has to come close to 4090 not gonna happen .Guys its the cancelled 4080 chip its specs are lower than 4080 16 gb.

regarding chairs being offered with gpu .those are very bad tactics being played by Indian retailers they are leveraging good products to sell shit products. And i have even heard that Aib are giving them shit products along with good products so they can recover the cost this needs to be stopped.

regarding RDNA3 i still think it is a good product it would have been great if twere to be 100 dollar cheaper .I would recommend AMD to whom who have patience and can tinker a bit otherwise go nvidia.

i am not a fanboi of zotac but looking at 2+3 or 3+2 years warranty on gpu is superb value .you can keep the card OCD for 5 years without a worry.

This is a highly misleading graph. A 980 Ti has more CUDA cores than 3060 Ti and yet 3060 Ti is easily 2x faster than the 980 Ti.

The upcoming 4070 Ti is just the 4080 with lower VRAM and it will be faster than the 3080 atleast. Will it faster than the 3080/Ti, hard to guess right now.

The current pricing of 4xx series cards is directly related to Nvidia's monopoly. There is simply no competition and AMD ruined their chance by overpricing their 7xxx cards. As one said, the days of VFM GPUs are over. Well, unless Intel lands a sucker punch to both AMD and Nvidia.

Rightly summarized. That CUDA core comparison not worth shit

I only wonder what people who paid 2Lac for 3090 feels like to sell for 50k to 60k with in 2 years. This thought itself is keeping me away from buying 4090 which will be crushed by 5000 series which is said to be way bigger improvement due to chiplet or something ...

Timing is also required to sell such items to ensure you don't lose much. I bought 3090 for 1.33 lakhs in Dec 2020 and sold it for 76K in Oct 2022. ~50% is a big loss for sure but timing can reduce that loss significantly

opposite for me I suppose ...

It's not, it's at least 30% slower than 4080 16GB. Will be nearly as good as 3090Ti (~5% margin)

You're right, CUDA core comparison between different architecture/generations is not valid but it's valid within the same generation and 4070 Ti (formally 4080 12GB) has less CUDA cores and memory bandwidth than 4080 16GB.

Looking at the temporal period of obsolescence of GPUs these days, i guess it is always better to go for second hand units. Imagine dropping a bomb on 4090, and NVIDIA making it obsolete within 6 -8 months. brutal!

the tech seems to be too fast or i would say the greed has exceeded why dont you put the best possible design on the table and the next cycle comes after 4 -5 years
