Nvidia RTX 3XXX Series announced

I came across a reddit post where a miner got cards for cheap (relatively) in Sri Lanka. Anyone has Sri Lankan contacts now that Singapore is out? Lol

Edit: But thanks for the effort @chetansha

So I learned that RT

So went to my vendor to gather inputs and he has said that prices of GPU have come down by 10 percent to 15 percent. RTX 3080 has been retired as per him and it will be replaced by 3080Ti which will be coming on 4th June. He is not sure about the price but expects the AIB to be under 1.4L. Asked me to buy everything but the GPU. He was offering me a RTX 2060 for 30K as have been buying equipments from him since 2005.

Retail prices in Singapore

Singapore Dollar
gtx1050ti $560
GTX1650 S$625
gtx1660 $950
Gtx1660 super $1000
RTX2060 $1000
RTX3060 $1600
RTX3070 $2700
RTX3080 $4000
RTX3080 external box thunderbolt $3800
RTX3090 pre order $5100

RX6900XT SGD2399-3499
RX6800 $1950-2299
RX6700XT $1500-1750
RX6800xt $1899-2499

Those prices seem, fairly high ... near scalper levels.... I thought prices there were lower

I do have a feeling that LHR cards will make a difference even if scalpers get there hands on them because majority of buyers will be miners who are ready to buy at what ever price (simple business) but if these cards have lot more ROI than paying high price for normal cards then miners will stay away reducing demand. Eventually scalpers will move away because of low profit selling to gamers only

thats a good deal indeed

Retail prices will be high everywhere right now, except maybe at/closer to the source or some shop that's hidden away in a country where there's not much demand for GPUs. Or at Micro Center.

We should wait for the next event to impact the market and see what the effects are. Like like partial crash of crypto that happened.
Up next is the LHR cards. In the next couple of weeks we'll know how the retail/AIB pricing and availability of these cards are in other countries and if miners are still going for it - highly unlikely.
No clue when LHR will come to India, but let's say July. And July has that EIP thing, which will have some effect on miners. At this point they really will not buy any card at scalper prices if the profitability is low, so prices have to come down a little at least.

Should ask retired sri lankan cricketers to at least do this charity :p or help gamers get cards at nominal rates..
Don't think so. There is way too much anguish going around here and on Reddit.
Post reddit link.

the crypto market is such a gamble ,that now they will invest all they eth money to some other bullshit coin which is easy to mine and make that popular and the shit will go on and on
Those who want to mine will keep mining but if all of them jump to some alt coin, the difficulty is going to shoot up and it wont be profitable till that coin gains some value (which can take time), if I understood correctly.
At least those looking to make a quick buck wont jump into mining unless they are ill-informed.

this cant be true ,rptech is fkin around with us how can a card sale be delayed by a month and again the site ****s up ,how can one vendor afford such a huge amount be blocked ?
You know mate, I am fairly sure RPTech is selling the FE cards to retailers or scalpers or miners for a massive profit. There is NO WAY, India's sole distributor for Nvidia has had 3 so-called sales and not a single card being sold. I can't prove it but no sale for 3 months does not make sense.

thats what i am trying to convey ,assuming there were 50 cards for sale koi 23 lakh ka maal atka keh rakhega for a month are you nuts

Lol if Nvidia really cared about gamers then why would they dedicate their fab capacity to producing LHR cards instead of say, making them available for gamers? They're essentially catering to miners. Moreover, what do you think will happen to the LHR cards once mining days are over? Unlike regular cards, they can't be used for gaming and hence, the gamers won't be able to get their hands on what would otherwise have been cheap second hand used cards.
Mate, I'm a little confused if you got it backwards or I'm misunderstanding your post. LHR cards are for gamers, the value of non-LHR cards will increase if there continues to be demand from miners.

But LHR cards are just a temporary thing anyway. If/Once Eth moves to POS, LHR cards wont carry any special value since other coins can still be mined on them without any restrictions.
