There you go.

^Nope! Just that people are being wise not to splurge on high end Intel processors when unlockable Phenoms exist. :p

Just a few days back Appo submitted a score with these great Phenoms @ 6.5G or something cooled with LN2, but sadly he was not able to beat his own score of an air clocked E5200,

And IMO I dont see any benefit of a quad core, be it intel or amd....so dunno know what to say.....

@ appo, btw I am sure Appo would see this thread, hence let me give you a big big congrats.....I guess you wll know the reason for congrats......:p.... I hope this takes the Indian Overclocking Scene to new heights.....

Lol what's the point comparing the bench done on an Intel CPU and an AMD CPU? Totally different set of instructions. It'd never equal the scores.

Take a much more realistic bench such as a game - a 4G E8400 would clock around say 30frames with a HD4870 on a game. The X2 550 would do the same or still better it at 3.8G! Unlock the processor to X4 B50 and one'd easily beat the E8400 left, right, center! Not to mention at 5.5k this processor is extreme VFM!

Price certainly rock, no doubt about that, how much do the AMD mobos cost???

Actually I only see benchmark scores to compare which are certainly in favor of Intel, any review comparing these processors neck to neck in gaming????

btw the reason I visited this thread is :

[hwbot] 8.031 - i7 950 @ 5047Mhz - DICE - MSI X58 Eclipse - 6GB CORSAIR DDR3@1320Mhz 7-7-7-21 [/hwbot]

So DS, you got a little bit more to beat that score...I am not even trying to go head to head with appo ...they will slaughter me, but maybe we can run this out.....what say...so 18.158..new target for u. Trying for below 18 today.

^^Naa. I am planning to jump/cross 17s mark :p But this crap ram won't do 900 @ 4-4-4 or even 5-5-5 , planning to buy new smps maybe a new ram as well ;)

You did 4ghz IINM , why you are stopping @ 3.8 on that gem of a board :p

4Ghz not very stable, and anyway ram dont matter, nor does anything else. Its only proccy speed that counts for pi. Try dailing your ram down a bit to get better stability on the proccy.

lol, I hope you are kidding about the ram.....or maybe you need some classes on Superpi benching,

Ofcourse I need classes, and Im not kidding, Im actually pretty serious. So is there a guide or something. if ram does make a difference, maybe I should try again tonite..

This is my first attempt at super pi, so obviously need some tips from u guys.
