Why should they? Specially when it works with the most popular browsers out there even in its non-standard-compliant state. Once again it was probably Opera that included a hack specifically for Facebook.

I remember when Hotmail didn't work with Opera (unless masked) and now with newer versions, Opera includes a hack specifically for Hotmail.

You can see this in action by logging into your Hotmail account, right-clicking the webpage > Edit Site Preferences > Network and you will see that it is automatically masked as Firefox without you even needing to set up a profile.
And this automatic profile is completely transparent and won't show up alongside the profiles you yourself set up.
 
Opera is for those people who don't like much bloat and want an All-in-one-complete browser without the need of any Add-ons.

Moreover, just right click and there you get an option of making custom filters.

I don't know why but Firefox used to hang when I used to Chat in Facebook in Mandriva. So, I used Chromium in it.
